Wilson conducts an informed and (mostly) appreciative tour of Buenos Aires' neighborhoods, avenues, parks, plazas and notable buildings. The words of writers, painters, poets and politicians—Arlt, Ocampo, Borges, Sarmiento, Martínez Estrada, Cortázar, Gálvez, Alberti, Gardel, Xul Solar—invoke the culture and history of one of South America's most fascinating cities. The book reads like a reverie, and is recommended for anyone whose imagination has ever been captured by Buenos Aires.
