A very easy-to-read and expertly researched book giving equal time to each sister. Narrated frequently from first-hand accounts through diaries, letters, books, and published works we often feel in story mode. I greatly esteem these ladies who did their best given the circumstances of a still-wild Canada. The ladies settled in Upper Canada in an area a bit of a distance from where I am but I'm familiar with the area and that brought the book closer to life for me. A must-read for those interested in pioneering women.… (altro)
