Touchstones

I belong to the 250 Book Challenge and I maintain a list of what I read. Lately when I enter a title and author I don't always get the correct information showing up in the Touchstones. I do check under Other for the correct information but usually it is so far off that that doesn't help. A few recent, since Augest 18, examples:

Off You Go by Boo Walker. Touchstones shown are Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin Jr. (others)
Boo Walker (others)

Letters to My Wife by John Dean. brought up the correct Touchstone Letters to My Wife by Terry Dean (others) as well as Great Expectations by Charles Dickens (others)

The Glasgow Kiss by Alex Gray. The Hypnotist by Lars Kepler (others)

What can I do to get the correct data. This has been an off again on again problem for a long time. I emailed the guy who left (sorry I can't remember his name, a short one) and he made some corrections and referred one to Tim.

Aha! The problem is the "The." There is no "the" in any of the titles.

The Glasgow Kiss can't work, because there is no The in the title.

Works for me.

I very rarely have any problem with touchstones as long as I remember to check that a touchstone points to the right book. Occasionally the right one doesn't show up in the list of 'others" but nearly always because either I've typed the title wrong or the book has been re-titled for another market.

>7 danielx: That I remember, touchstones have never worked in the reviews. They were supposed to be added in "two weeks" but never did. Perhaps part of the LT 2.0 will contain that fix...

I think that's true.

A lot of the "nonsense brackets where hyperlinks were supposed to appear" seem to come from people copy/pasting their Amazon reviews in which they've referenced other books or authors. Amazon's linking obvously doesn't work here, so you get that.

this is very strange. Sometimes the same text+ code (the brackets) yield workable touchstones, and other times, it does not.

Now and again search is down, and if search is down, touchstones won't work.

Also - if you edit a message or leave it open for too long, it can sometimes refuse to take any touchstones (it appears that it does but when you post the message, it is just text). A simple refresh/reload of the page gets things back to normal.
