I'm a slow reader, no way for me to read 13 x 13 books in one year, but seven is just another misterious number, so I can try 7 x 13

0.1. "currently read" books ;) - I have the awful habit of starting to read books then abandon them for another one. I wasn'even aware of how bad I am until I joined Goodreads :D There I have 38 titles on my currently-reading shelf, and a few more here ;) I take a vow to finish 13 of them before the end of 2013. =)
0.2. I took the tbr-challenge twice, and failed twice. So besides trying not to fail this year, I try to read 13 books left over from the past two years. These two categories can overlap with the categories below.
Non-fiction
1. Buddhism
2. Asian cultures
3. Psychology
4. Non-fiction - other
Fiction
5. High fantasy
6. Sci-fi
7. Kid's classics
8. Classics
9. Hungarian
10. Russian
11. Contemporary Far Eastern
12. Other Asian
13. Other European (continental)

There's not much chance I can make it, but after all, what is the point of taking a challenge if I'm sure I can? :D

Thanks, ladies :)
Tomorrow, I think, I finish my seventh in the Russian fiction category, but I feel I'm a cheater because I started the year saying I'd read less urban fantasy, and then just took Night Watch and its five sequels... But what do now. =)

Welcome! I have only ever seen the film Nightwatch, never tried the books. I should probably check them out

I vaguely remember hearing something about a new book in the Night Watch series but had completely forgotten about it so thanks for the reminder. Is it at least on a par with the other books or just an offering to earn a few extra rubles?

Yes, clfisha, I think so! I had a look at your page and books, and I'm pretty sure you would enjoy them =)

Wolfy, I didn't have the feeling that it was just a book written for money, rather at the end I thought there soon would be a sequel, and it was like a typical middle part. I was disappointed but others liked it....
And just found out that Vasilyev's book is awailable in English by the title Face of the Dark Palmira. It was written in 2002, and it takes place during the events of Twilight Watch. I'm happy for you, guys :)

One more category is completed :) Not so great a week before the year ends ;~)))

4th category: non-fiction (other than buddhism, psychology and astrology)
the seven books are:
The Rite: The Making of a Modern Exorcist
Convict Conditioning
The Naked Warrior
Fast Food Nation
The Holocaust Industry
A Moszkva tér gyermekei
Egy őrült őrgrófnő naplója
The last two are in Hungarian only, one is about a group of homeless living in Budapest and one is the autobiography of a woman born into an aristocratic family but lives the life of a superficial celebrity.
