Lakeshore Secrets is a book that I downloaded as a free book through an mail I got a couple of years ago. It is a first of series, and each book is the story of one of the McAdams sisters.
The first of the "McAdams Sisters" series story is the story of Kate & Marc. Their love story based on a lot of secrets that are resolved step by step but with plodding pacing, even though the story takes place around two to three weeks.
The families of the two main characters are very involved and want to be part of Kate & Mark's life.
Ther is something captivating the small-town romances that I like to read.
Well, I am looking forward to enjoying reading the following books of the series as well as Shannyn Leah's other books.

This is the second book of this series and it is great! I love these McAdams sisters and how they tease each other and yet are always there when needed. This is Peyton's story and she is fierce! She is very prickly and snarky with Colt, the hometown hockey hero, who grew up next door. They are very funny together as they are both so blind to their own emotions and their journey is loaded with detours (both good and bad!) I love their banter and laughed quite a bit but also cried when they actually let themselves be vulnerable. Great story and am looking forward to reading the rest of this series.

I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Really good read! It makes you laugh and cry and the whole time you're rooting for Kate & Marc to find their way together. Some mystery and intrigue along with some good old cat fighting! Meow!

Such a good series! I love the McAdams sisters and their extended families. They are fun, supportive, ambitious, hard-working and very funny. They love hard!! And they are very protective of their own. This is Sydney's story and she has a lot going on what with being a widow, single mother, entrepreneur and longing for her best friend and first love to come around. There are lots of twists and turns in this story and lots of secrets but it is very sweet too and at times is really hot! Well worth the read and doesn't have to be read in order. You can figure out the relationships but reading the whole series would probably be a much more fulfilling experience. After all, they are a great family to get to know!

Loved it! This is Abby's story and it really changed my view of her. This book really went deep into Abby and gave her a lot of depth instead of just being the wild child baby sister. I loved the interaction between her and Riley and how they both were so hesitant to venture past the "friends" stage. We really learned a lot more about the whole McAdams family in this book. This can be read as a standalone but you will really enjoy it more if you start at the beginning and read the whole series. You won't be sorry! But get your tissues ready because you will need them.

Really good read! Love getting to know the Caliendo family. Violet is the wedding planner for the main resort and has somehow been conned into planning her ex's wedding. She relives some of her wedding and miserable marriage while learning how to open herself up to love again. Some very hot scenes and lots of humor. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

Another good romance and this time it's the McAdams brother's turn! Avery, the only son in a family of 4 sisters, is finally ready for love. He's also ready for his band to make it big and mixing business with pleasure (in the form of his manager) isn't going smoothly. Of course all of the sisters have to make an appearance! Love this tight-knit family with all of their significant others adding in. Makes for great stories!

This is the 2nd Caliendo book and it's even better than the 1st! We get into more of Robert Caliendo's deceit and manipulation of people including his own family. Fortunately Robert is dead but his blackmailing etc. lives on and this time it's Anya & Quinn dealing with their pasts. They are a hot couple if they can get past themselves and their guilt. Really should read this series in order as they seem to build on each other gradually introducing you to all of the family members. Really good series though!!

It's definitely not what I'm used to from Shannyn Leah but it was equally as good! This book is quite a romp in over the top hilarity and downright raunchy talk! I love YAYA! I'm a grandmother myself that loves to embarrass my grands but I'm not quite as risque as YAYA. If you want to laugh and don't mind language and sex then dive right in and enjoy the ride. Can't wait for the next episode!!

Loved the first 2 books of the Bad Boys of Willow Valley series and this one is a winner also. I'm loving the roller coaster ride that this series is going on, emotions range from love to hate , attraction to distraction. When I started reading this , I kept thinking to myself that she needed several spanking lol. Shannyn Leah, these books are all home runs and the series wins the game

This is another fabulous book in the Bad Boy of Willow Valley, Shannyn Leah has brought a new bad boy that has his own demons to fight. When a person is betrayed by someone they love, anger or hate can come out in many forms. You can runaway from it but sooner or later is will come around again. The chemistry between Stone and Bowie surprised me a little as she came back into his life as after 10 years but they say love doesn't die. It can surprise a person what love can do for two people. The Bad Boys of Willow Valley are worth a first, second and third read.

I want a bad boy like Dax, he may act all rough and growly,"supposedly" happy with a new woman a night, but someone has him hot and bothered. Dax's dad Rowdy took Ava in when she was alone and pregnant , in a way they adopted each other. The chemistry is a flowing between Dax and Ava , the emotions are all over the place and I'm loving it. You'll need ice to cool down, tissues for any crying and a drink by you because you won't want to leave your seat after you start reading. I'm ready for my next bad boy and I know that I'm going to enjoy it also

Dax is the town bachelor, a single mechanic and volunteer firefighter who spends his evening drinking and enjoying the various women who visit Willow Valley as tourists. He's got no desire to settle down, but when the loss of his father hurts the only girl he ever had some sort of feelings for he finds himself a changed man. Ava and Olivia were the apples of his father's eyes and Dax feels like he finally understands why his dad was pushing him to let Ava in. Together they stumble through the loss of Rowdy and the uncertainty that comes with trying something new. When Ava must rely on Dax to protect her and Olivia from the past she discovers he is a changed man and might be the right one to give her heart, and trust, to.

"Hot and cold. Water and fire."

Dax, book one in the Bad Boys of Willow Valley series by Shannyn Leah, was a great bad guy turns good read. From the very first page Leah thrusts us into the small town of Willow Valley, allowing us to see the beach, the fire station, the mechanic's shop, and the quaint streets that us city people dream about. It's a classic small town romance, everyone knows everyone's business, but there's a twist that makes Dax a bit more exciting. Dax is your classic handsome alpha with a distaste for real romance. Ava is the sweet teacher, the goody-two shoes, and the mother of little princess Olivia. She has a past, a background that we only get a glimpse at, but it's enough to tell us things with her aren't as they seem. She and Dax share chemistry, a blazing inferno that everyone can see, but them. Their romance really is the entire story, but Olivia and Rowdy, Dax's father, really make it that much better. They're the best kind of secondary characters, especially for a story like this one.

"It was crazy. He was crazy. Heck, she felt a little crazy lately..."

Dax is a story about love, loss, grief, forgiveness, and strength. Dax and Ava must face the terrible loss of Dax's father and together they work through the mess that they made when they failed to acknowledge how much they care for one another. They work trough the grief, they work through caring for Olivia, they deal with Dax's history as a playboy, and they face Ava's ugly past when it catches up to her. The story is similar to many others, but I enjoyed the characters and I really enjoyed how Shannyn Leah worked through their differences. The moments with Olivia were so perfect, I just wish that the past Ava kept from Dax, and Olivia, wasn't such a surprise. I knew there would be twists, but I wish some of it had been teased in the beginning on the novel. In this case, we get over 50% through before it is brought up and it felt like an addition to the story rather than something that was a part of it from the start.

"There is an us. There's always been an us."

I love bad boys, I love single mom stories, and I really love a book that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy. Ava and Dax are the kind of couple that makes you say awe, especially as Dax embraces the changes he has to make in order to win over a woman like Ava. Olivia is the comedic relief and really makes the story the right level of complex. Dax is definitely a great new release from Shannyn Leah and I look forward to the rest of the men known as the Bad Boys of Willow Valley.

ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.

Violet is a puzzle within a puzzle. Her past has soured her on the institution of marriage and after her own divorce, she now helps others plan there weddings. Huh? Her past meets her present when she ends up entangled in planning her ex's upcoming wedding. Add in a best man she loathes more than her ex husband and the soap opera begins. Sunset Thunder puts the loco in crazy. The surprises are scandalous, the relationships titillating and the drama amplifies from uh-oh to HELL NO, rather quickly. Sunset Thunder took wrong to high frequency levels and delivered a performance that I'll not soon forget. On my list of re-reads.

What do I say? This book is wonderful but is not a book for the faint at heart! It’s definitely not to be taken seriously! The characters are so over the top you can’t help but be entertained by them. I love YaYa! She reminds me of my own grandma! While this isn’t a genre I typically read, I’m glad I did!

If your girlfriend took out a no contact order against you, would you even consider taking her back? Stone says no but his heart still belongs to Bowie. When she explains why, he's ready to forgive her but his friends don't forgive so easily. Especially when Bowie then gets him into an underground grudge fight. Will they ever manage to get together?

Love & anger are two extreme emotions. Both have their own form of heat. Stone's anger at Bowie is more hurt at her betrayal than true anger. He has to learn to listen to what she says & give forgiveness or he will stay bitter & alone. Bowie has to realize there is such a thing as tough love & her brother needs that more than the pandering & spoiling. He needs to grow up & atone for his actions. Another great story!

My Review! Sorry for the spoilers!

Kate comes home for her grandmothers funeral, her sister is avoiding the family, her ex fiancé cheated on her, the childhood friend left behind, her father who is an alcoholic but not, a resort executive with an intrusive family finds out his uncle is his father. Finally Marc and Kate get back together only to become engaged because she and her sisters need their new business financed and Marc learns why she left! Should I go on....! Exhausting just trying to fit the pieces! Don't think I can finish. Oh! And a rewrite please!

This is the 4th book in the Lakeshore series and is as good as the others. In this book, the story concentrates on the wild sister, Abby. Each of the sisters have totally different personalities and Abby just seems like the fun rebel of the family. This book can be read as a stand alone but I highly recommend reading all of the first three so it will give you much more of an understanding of dynamics of the family.

After her grandmother passed away, Abby stays in her house but also wakes up with nightmares. She had become friends with Riley who works next door at the bakery with his apartment above it. Abby counts on Riley as a true good friend who helps her and makes her feel safe. She often sleeps there cuddled up to Riley to get comfort after the nightmares They have been friends but their lustful feelings are getting stronger and stronger. With Abby and her feelings that Grandma is trying to tell her something and with Riley’s pass, which is unknown, they both decide to try to make something of their feelings and become more than just friends.

I have found that I really enjoy reading books in a series. Maybe it’s because if the story is good, the characters are well written and the setting so beautiful you don’t want the story to finish. The McAdams Sister series has all of this and the series just keeps getting better.

In this story, it’s about a love that has gone on for a decade with both Sydney and Jake not admitting to it. There are also many secrets between the two of them that keep them as friends and nothing more. As the story moves along there are so many twists, turns, and surprises that makes you want to read more and not stop. With all the secrets can Sydney and Jake ever get past them and become a true couple? You’ll have to read it to find out and will enjoy every bit of this story. It can be a stand alone but you will enjoy it even more reading the series from the beginning.

This was a book in a series but can be read as a stand alone. After reading it, I want to read more books in the series. I really enjoyed the storyline but I thought there was a little too much sex and discussing/dreaming/thinking about it as well. If you aren’t into that, you are not going to enjoy the book.

This is about Violet Caliendo a single, divorced mom of two who is the wedding coordinator at her families 5-star resort. Now she is setting up for her ex-husband’s wedding to someone he had an affair with while married. She is going to get through this wedding even with the playboy, Ryder Carlex, as best man. He is a delight to look at and seems to have changed in the last 10 years The story goes on with all the issues Ryder and Violet each have and if they can really make it work and be happily ever after.

Once again, author Shannyn Leah wrote a wonderful book about the McAdams sisters. This time so focused on Peyton. The story is about love and family with some sadness and fear as well. The characters are written so that you feel like you were part of the family.

This story, the second of the McAdams series, is about Peyton McAdams who is busy getting ready for her and her sister’s store of homemade bath and skin care products ready to open. Along comes her childhood crush, Colt Patterson, a hometown hero would has retired due to an injury as a professional hockey player. Colt shows up everyone once in awhile to visit his mother who lives next door to the McAdams. Since they are so close, it’s not hard to to run into Colt. The last time Peyton and Colt saw each other, they had a little loving making session in the laundry room and Peyton never heard from Colt again. She thought she was just one more girl he had a quicky with. Now their parents are dating and they are running into each other often. Both of them have fears they have to conquer but yet they both feel something sizzling between the two of them that they each find hard to deny.

What I like about this series it the whole family aspect. The family is close and all the girls look out for each other. The added bonus of Colt’s mom and Peyton’s father getting together.

Received an ARC at no cost to author..I am a little upset with myself that I waited so long to get to book, but I got it to it and am thankful that I did. Well as the title states we have secrets and due to these secrets it made life and reconnection difficult for Marc and Kate. The book sucks you in til the end, you continue to turn the pages until you find out what happened and will marc and Kate get their HEA. well I am not going to tell you, you need to read.. Enjoy!

DAX by Shannyn Leah
Bad Boys of Willow Valley #1

Rowdy Colyn, widow and father of Rowdy, brought unwed pregnant Ava Anderson into his family after his wife died. Ava found a second and better father in Rowdy than the one she grew up with. Ava is definitely running from her past but makes a wonderful life for herself and her daughter in her new town. Rowdy and Ava are attracted to one another but fight it for years. The blurb for the book sets the right tone and background for the book while indicating that there will be a HEA in the end. There is loss and heartache and coming to terms with issues in life that both Ava and Rowdy have to deal with. Olivia, Ava’s daughter, is a charmer.

To me this felt like a New Adult romance with a bit of suspense at the end. I have to say that I really disliked Rowdy and had trouble sticking with the story due to the way he behaved in the beginning. I saw nothing redeeming in him at all and could not see why Ava or any female would want anything to do with him. Thankfully that changed when he was required to step up to the plate…well…perhaps not even then but perhaps a few days afterward. In the end he did redeem himself and I was better able to see why perhaps Ava and Rowdy would end up together. It was an okay story and one I would recommend for New Adult readers and even, perhaps for young adult readers.

I would like to thank the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.

3-4½

Oh my! The emotion, the angst, the romance! Dax is an alpha mechanic, volunteer fireman, love 'em & leave 'em man. He's arrogant & cocky & he's keeping a secret. He's interested in single mother Ava. He's managed to hide it from everyone by engaging in one night stands to keep his mind off her.

Dax's father Rowdy had befriended Ava when she was pregnant & alone. He had her move into his house as a "form of a foster" daughter to give her a hand up. She's now a respected teacher with a young daughter. She's looked down on Dax for his attitude but still is drawn to him. When tragedy struck, will it pull them together or push them apart? The chemistry is there but can it develop into more?

Shannyn Leah has done it again. The story pulled me in from the beginning & quickly tapped into my emotions. I cried! I actually sobbed through several chapters & used multiple tissues. I loved the idea that Olivia, Ava's daughter, has these rough, tough mechanics wrapped around her finger. It was a sweet side that generally isn't portrayed but tugs your heart. I can't wait to see what Ms. Leah comes up with next.

This was my first read from author Shannyn Leah and it won’t be the last. I really enjoyed the story with all the secrets, twist and turns and the love between characters, which were all well written. It’s a story about making choices and learning from your past.

The main female character, Katie McAdams, leaves her home and no one hears of her for 6 years until she comes back when her grandmother dies. It also was time to go back after finding out her boss, fiancee is having an affair. One thing she didn’t want to go back to was the only man she truly loved, Marc Caliendo. But going back may just be the thing to do.

I read this without the other books prior to it but had no trouble reading it. Of course, now I want to read all the other ones. It is full of mystery, secrets and love which makes for a great book.
