I saw the movie a long time ago, but I remember liking it quite a bit. The book is very different, but probably even better. The character work is amazing. I couldn't help but love them despite all their flaws, or maybe it's because of all their flaws. I still can't properly explain why is Howl so likable. Magic, I guess. The story is very strong too and did surprise me at times. It has very soft magic, which fits it very well. It's just this magical, fairytale-like world where anything can happen. ** spoiler alert ** S: July 25th, 2021 | C: Aug 1st, 2021 | 5 ⭐ ⚠️ WARNING! This review may contain spoilers, read at your own risk. I also cuss a lot. I am not a professional reviewer. I just read books and tell my thoughts about them, whatever they may be. Let me start by saying that this is one of my FAVORITE movies and I didn't know until recently that it even had a book version. Inwas quite excited but also quite worried knowing the track record with book versus movie. Now, it has been a LONG time since I watched the movie and my memory is quite trash so I don't remember much of what happened but, after finishing the book, I feel as if the stories are quite different yet still the same - like alternate universes. Both are equally amazing, in my opinion, and I don't believe one is better or worse than the other. I do have a strong desire to rewatch the movie though haha Sophie is a very likeable character and I fell more in love with her after reading the book. Howl doesn't seem quite as charming to me in the book, but Calcifer is still amazing and easily my favorite character 🔥 ♥ I didn't take notes about this book as I read it. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing, but inreally have no complaints. Maybe I am biased because of my love for the movie, but I thought it was a wonderful read and I found myself smiling at the end. Though I was surprised that Miss Angorian was the demon - I wasn't shocked by it, but it did surprise me. I'm also quite tired as I finished the book, so that might contribute to my lack of surprise. Overall, I think this book is wonderful and I highly recommend giving it a go. You should also watch the movie because it's *chef's kiss* ☺🤌💙 Appartiene alle SerieHowl's Castle (1) È contenuto inHa l'adattamentoHa ispiratoHa come guida per lo studentePremi e riconoscimentiMenzioniElenchi di rilievo

Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the rest as much. I do believe that many would love it, but it just wasn't what I was expecting.
Tropes: This book consistantly brings in tropes from all sorts of fairytales thoughout the story.
Content: nothing to worry about
