While there is no index, the table of contents is an excellent guide. It is perfect for bouncing around topics, and is also fine to read sequentially. It is illustrated with drawings and great photographs of the technology, all with dark background. Topics include GPS, space suits, space shuttles, space telescopes, space travel- all done in a factual but light format, including wisecracks on the side. For a kid who is interested in space, this is one to pour over. ( )Questa recensione è stata scritta per Recensori in anteprima di LibraryThing. This book is really good. The illustrations are good. I learned a lot.- my 11 year old daughter's review _____________________________________________ This is a gorgeous book! My daughter, who has a big interest in space, dug right into it and started telling me different facts right away! "Hey Dad, did you know...?" And in almost every case, I did NOT know! A very inspiring book for any young mind who wants to know more about the "world" above us! Questa recensione è stata scritta per Recensori in anteprima di LibraryThing. This was a fun and informational book for kids and adults about some of the amazing space gadgets out there. I am older than the target audience and learned some new information, and the graphics in this book made it a real standout! They were easy to understand and just great to look at as well, I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in space, not just kids. Happy reading! This is a great informational text for upper elementary aged children. There were plenty of illustrations and quick facts to capture the attention of the reader. This is a great text to use as an introduction to infographics. The text accompanying the illustrations is short, but allows children to learn a lot about each topic presented in the book. The quick facts encourage children to learn more about the topics from other resources. This book is well-written and visually appealing.I would have liked to see a more photos instead of all illustrations. For example, the information about the animals that have participated in space exploration, it would have been nice to include actual photos of a few animals. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
Space may be the final frontier --but how do we learn about it, look deeper into it, and live in it? The infographics in this book will rocket you through a universe of powerful telescopes, distant probes, and high-speed spacecraft. Get ready to buzz by comets, land on alien planets, peer into the universe's past, and go where no one (except a handful of rovers and space probes) has gone before! We live in a complicated cosmos, but this book breaks down the complex, the confusing, and the downright kooky to reveal the fascinating details and hidden wonders that are out of this world.
