no stars: Not Yet Rated/Not finished reading.
1/2 star: blech. Awful and dreadful, but somehow I still managed to finish it.
1 star: Bad
2 stars: Not very good. Definitely would not recommend. I rated a lot of books from childhood at 2 stars, because I liked them okay at the time, but looking back I know that they weren't the greatest.
2.5 stars: Ambivalent opinion. Wasn't good, but didn't hate it.
3 stars: Pretty good. I might recommend it, but with reservations. I probably wouldn't take the time to read it again.
3.5 stars: I liked it and would probably read it again if I had time. I'd recommend it to someone that I knew liked similar books.
4 stars: Great, definitely a book to keep but maybe haven't gotten to read it again to see if my opinion is as strong. I would recommend it to most people.
4.5 stars: One of my favorites.
5 stars: Best of the best; I have read it multiple times and loved it just as much if not more on subsequent readings. I'd recommend it to anyone.
