Erich Maria Remarque
Shadows in Paradise
All Quiet on the Western Front

Are you looking for fiction, non-fiction, or both? Must the setting be Europe, or are you interested in other parts of the world as well?

Although not about refugees, one of the best books I've read about the impact of war and its aftermath on a population is Elsa Morante's La Storia ("History" in the English translation).

You might also try looking at the work pages for the books you've mentioned to see what is recommended, and also look at the works tagged "refugees": http://www.librarything.com/tag/refugees

My recommendation for All quiet still stands. Lay Down Your Arms! was written in 1889 by Bertha von Suttner to try to prevent war. It obviously didn't work. She worked for Alfred Nobel and was one of the early Peace Prize winners.

>1 verdi678:, you can visit the book page for All Quiet on the Western Front and review its recommendations for related reading.

I especially liked The Wars by Timothy Findley, and I have heard very good things about Birdsong by Sebastian Faulks.
