I read this romance book a few years ago but for the life of me i cant remember the name of it. I have tried to Google it many times but no matter how hard i try i cant find it and i just spent most of my day on this and its driving me crazy. It was about a guy that was a highway man though he wasn't actually a bad guy he was doing it to catch someone that was breaking the law or something (sorry like i said read it years ago). A woman is riding in a public traveling coach when the highway man stops them but the coachmen trying to save the day does something stupid and the carriage overturns the woman is injured and the highway man takes her back to his cottage. She wakes up thinking hes a hunchback monster because its dark n she sees the outline of his black cat laying on his back. i don't remember much more but he does eventually let her go and the she realizes who he is and so on but if anyone can help me figure out what book this is it would be super helpful i know its not allot of information but i read this book like 6 years ago and i really loved it and would really like to read it again so any suggestions would be helpful.

Most of it sounds like a Heyer, but I don't remember the bit about the cat. Unfortunately the heroic highwayman is a very common character in Regency and similar romances, and an overturned carriage is also pretty common. You might look at Georgette Heyer's books and see if anything rings a bell.
