Little Book of Puppy Love: A Valentine Book for Best… di Howie Dewin

A grab-bag of Valentine's Day trivia, activities, poetry, quizzes. The main value I get out of this is the few pages of personality questions that my grown daughter filled out when she was just eight. Her words are much cuter than any of the big-snouted dogs gazing out from the pages at me.

Happy Howliday Book (Artlist Collection: The Dog) di Howie Dewin

Disregarding all the cute doggy photos, this is a very generic book about holiday traditions, with a main focus is on Christmas. Even though the opening page mentions Kwanzaa and Hanukkah there are no pages with dogs telling about traditions tied to those holidays, instead the book skips ahead to New Year's and even Chinese New Year, which can happen anywhere from late January to late February.

The best pages had a dog from associated with a particular country talking about specific traditions from that country, but there were only about ten of those in the midst of random stuff like activities, recipes, and puzzles.… (altro)

A Magical Yearbook: A Cinematic Journey: Imagine,… di Emily Stead

I originally found this book on Walmart's website and it looked quite small. I wasn't sure what to expect when my mom returned from the store with this book in tow. I was surprised that it was fairly large in size, but it's also quite thin so I guess it balances out. This book is aimed more towards the younger generations but I will say, as a 25-year-old, I really enjoyed this book!

Along with facts and tidbits about certain characters and events in the Harry Potter universe, there are also quite a few activities that let you feel like you're actually part of the universe! My favorites were creating my own spell (I chose Tako Ako, which conjures a taco!), and putting your information on a license for a wand permit (you get to add your fingerprints. I didn't have any ink so I used dark blue eyeshadow and put super glue over it so it wouldn't rub off). There's also some cool collector's images that you can cut out and keep if you can bear to take the page from the book.

This is a must have for any hardcore Harry Potter fan, especially those young ones!… (altro)
