Then POV takes the reader on Jane's kidnapping journey. The horror inflicted on her; the budding "romance" with fellow kidnappee Mason. Is he real? Is he a figment of her imagination, pressing her to survive and find a way out, to escape? Or is it a mind trick
The author weaves a spellbinding tale of horror, suspense, fear, the desire for Jane and those around her, to find herself again or to discover who she is now. There were times that I put down the book, not wanting it to end, but then picking it back up to keep going, pushing Jane on to survive.
I liked how the author, right from the start, stated that it was Jane telling her story, in her way. Not through a therapist, or through her parents. She knew the only way to get the truth out was by putting it down in a book. Of course, it also begs the question, what memories were really/what memories were based upon the trauma she went through. Was it all real or was it a lie?… (altro)
