I loved the concept of this book. The world was such an interesting one! I loved the characters bonding over their shared love of books (great to see as a bookworm!). It had some absolutely spectacular lines (seriously, go look at the first ones!). I loved Bryony and Shakespeare although I wasn't that fond of the fact that their relationship was used as a way to state information. Even so, I was a little confused at times but I'm sure a lot of this will be cleared up later in the series.

I'd recommend this book to those who are interested in a pirate based fantasy romance!… (altro)

Godhunter is a quirky story with an unusual setting. Angels are monster, terrorising humans and waging war on knowledge. Humans can turn into gods by gathering worshipers.
At first, I had a little trouble getting into the story. It took me some time to figure out the basic setting of this world. It took me as much time to warm to Byony, the main character. While the characters are likeable enough, I never got truly sucked in, and at time I had trouble keeping some of the characters apart. I saw some of the plot points coming well ahead of time.
So in summary, I would call this a nice read, but not necessarily a "you have to read this" book. I'd probably pick up the next one in the series though, to see where the characters are headed.… (altro)
