Lucille Colandro

{My thoughts} – This book is a lot fun. I happen to enjoy all the books that are similar to this by Lucille Colandro. She has a nice interesting imagination when it comes to the many different things the Old Lady is able to swallow and why she swallows so many things.

I read through this book with my two year old and she kept pointing at objects on the pages. It’s her way of saying tell me what this and that is. She always has a smile on her face when she is being read to. She also seems to have an interest in these particular books.

I really liked how this particular book was put together. It’s not only a silly rhyme but it also helps to teach children about space. I like how in the back of the book there is more information for the child as they get older if they have more of in interest in it’s subject matter. This was a fun book to read and I look forward to reading more books in the series in the future.… (altro)

{My thoughts} – This book is much like all the other There Was an Old Lady Books that have come out. The illustrations are alright, they aren’t incredibly eye catching or appealing to younger babies as my one year old had zero interest in it. However, I can’t speak much for the older ages in which it is geared for. It is written in a rhyme/poetry form and flows quite well, however, it is a long read for a on year old and my daughter wasn’t too terribly interested in listening. She’d lost complete interest in it by the 5th page. Which I am sure is to be expected since it is above her age group.

My opinion of the book is that it is illustrated in accordance to the story within it’s pages. It is well thought out and well written. It is geared more towards older children that are able to sit still and listen to longer stories. I did enjoy the story, and think that any child that has grown to love There Was an Old Lady Books will love this story just as much.… (altro)

{My thoughts} – This book is just like all the other books that are in the series “There was an Old Lady.” This one is written for the Easter holiday and the illustrations and the story within the pages help to show that it is what the story is leading up to.

I think that this book would make a great addition to any child’s Easter basket when the time comes. It’s a silly book that may have the ability to cause some laughter depending on how your child responds to the story. This book also has a lot of repetition of words and or phrases that help children that are learning to read.

I recommend this book for any child that enjoys silly stories.… (altro)
