So I know most of us are doing the Paranormal 999 right now, but I was thinking maybe in the future we could do some book discussions here. We can all vote for a book each month, read and then have a discussion.

I'm always happy to do monthly books! I participate in the monthly book reads on the Romance group and it has been fun checking out different authors.

Sounds like fun! Also, I think people wouldn't mind "re-reads", since there are so many of us who read like fiends :D

I'd be up for it!

If I can get my hands on the books I'll be up for it - not a big range where I live in Australia - but If I can get them here I will.

I love it! I'm in a book club here, and I read the book within a few days (or less, depending on the book) and it seems like the meetings are spaced so far out! This way, I'm in two book groups! Yay!

Since most of us (I believe) are doing the Paranormal 999 Challenge, there's no reason why we can't select some books from our TBR pile for the challenge and all read them together. Um, I'm just excited to get more ideas for books and to talk about them. :)

Yay I'm so glad I asked about it! If we want to start now instead of later why don't we start posting some ideas for the first book here and then we can decide and go from there.

I think it's an awesome idea we should all nominate a book we would like to read and then take a vote to see which one is picked. We should also pick a month in which to start this excellent idea that way we all have enough time to get said book!
ooooh this is going to be so much fun :)

I'll throw a couple of suggestions into the ring - from my TBR pile:
The Trouble with Magic by Madelyn Alt
Circle of Five by Dolores Stewart Riccio
No rest for witches by Mary Janice Davidson et al (4 short stories)

sounds good! We could also then count them for the paranormal 999 challenge too, there are 9 months left we could have a different category each month so that we could at least cover it.
I also vote for...
The Trouble with Magic as it's also on my TBR pile
Dante's Girl by Natasha Rhodes
Devour by Melina Morel

Here are a few suggestions from my Paranormal 999 challenge list that I am planning to read for the challenge.
Carpe Demon by Julie Kenner
Blue is for Nightmares by Laurie Faria Stolarz
Night Keepers by Jessica Anderson
Once Bitten, Twice Shy by Jennifer Rardin
But I do have The Trouble With Magic and Dante's Girl on my TBR pile as well.

I found a few to nominate:
Lord of the Fading Lands by C.L. Wilson
Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz
Cry Wolf by Patricia Briggs (although I get the feeling almost everyone but me has already read it).

I was thinking about this the other day and thought of a way to pick books so that all of us are sure that we have never read it before. How about each month we pick one new release book to read and talk about. We can each recommend a new book we would like to read and then take a vote on which one we want.
I would like to recommend:
1. From Dead to Worse by Charlaine Harris (release date: March 31st )
or
2. City of Glass by Cassandra Clare(release date: March 24th)
So now the question is when do we start?

I like the idea of picking a new release, but it'd be helpful to know if it's in a series (like From Dead to Worse), that way we can read the prior books before, or those that don't want to start a new series don't have to.
In regards to the two above, I already pre-ordered From Dead to Worse and I'm going to reread the series prior to the release. Haven't heard of City of Glass. Is it a series? What's the genre?
Is it wrong that I'm so excited about this?

City of Glass is the final installment in Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments trilogy. It's a YA trilogy the first 2 City of Bones and City of Ashes were awesome. I am totally in love with these books!
No....It's not wrong to be excited about this because I can't wait to start I think it's a excellent idea.
