One of the greatest things about the internet is the way in which it democratized arts and entertainment. Now anyone can publish a book (or release music or video content, etc.) One of the worst things about the internet is the way in which it democratized arts and entertainment. Now anyone can publish a book. Absolutely anyone. My enjoyment of a good paradox was not enough to save this book. It is just so terrible -- every word of this novella is painfully terrible. Also, the "author" makes 3-ways with cowboys seem completely mundane which, in this context, is unforgivable. (I should admit I skimmed this over the course of less than an hour, but I am confident a closer read would not have made this better, and I could not go below the one-star so it did not impact my review.)… (altro)

Sarah and Huck have a past where they loved each other but fate and other things were getting in their way. Sarah had loved Huck so much in the past and when things went sour, she was upset and determined to keep away from him and the heartbreak he caused. Huck had been a punk when he was younger, lived carefree, was a rebel but the only person to see through all that and bring out his softer side was Sarah. He loved her hard but knew he wasn’t in the right place to be what she deserved so he stepped away to let her grow and get himself right. Years later Huck is the town sheriff, is in a good place, and has made Claire’s life a much better one than she would have had, but he doesn’t have Sarah. She is angry with him, out for revenge, and make a statement so she is determined to hurt Huck. What happens when secrets are shared, the past comes back to haunt you, and others want to see you fail? Can they let go of the past and move forward or will it be too much for them to handle?… (altro)

I loved Reed, he was the perfect guy. He thought of himself as worthless, a horrible person, but deep down his heart was pure and lovable. Harper was always on the run looking for an escape because her own family had treated her horrible, but at times I found her a tad annoying because she kept using excuses for her actions. She was always running away from her problems, but never realized she was just hurting herself and others by doing so. I loved how protective Reed was of her once he realized how much he wanted/needed her. It was a great read full of suspense, intrigue, and finding love.… (altro)

This book was such a good alpha hero and strong heroine who were strong and so amazing. Emory was a strong independent single mother who only had been with her ex-husband in the last decade or so, but she knew now that her son was grown that it was time to move forward in the next stages in her life whatever that may be. She wasn’t that old at only 38 years old she knew that times and dating has changed but she still wasn’t looking until she saw Gray. Gray is a retired MMA fighter who now trains other fighters, owns his own gym, and knows exactly what he is looking for and that isn’t one nights any more, he wanted something that meant more, and he felt it instantly when he met Emory. Emory was a little hesitant at first because Gray was intense and their chemistry was so strong, so he patiently waited for her to be ready and it didn’t take too long. Demons from his past still haunt him and he thinks he should let Emory go before he taints her life, but he can’t let her go and as selfish as that may be she doesn’t want him to let her go either. This was a fast read for me because I couldn’t put it down because I wanted to see what happened next and I really enjoyed it because they were a little older than most romance book couples and they knew exactly what they wanted in this stage of life so there wasn’t any back-and-forth wishy-washy stuff. I can’t wait for Reed’s story next.… (altro)
