My least favorite of the series so far. I just didn't enjoy Luca's character as much as I thought I would. In this story, he has been in love with Raven for years. There is an age gap, but they originally became friends first during the summer before Raven was to leave for an exclusive school to pursue a career playing the cello. He gives her up rather than watch her bypass her dream to stay with him. Luca bides his time and, in this book, decides it is time to claim Raven as his. I did not like the steamy parts in this book. I had to skim. All the books in this series are more steam than I like, but this one just didn't work for me. There were other things too. One more book to finish this set. Onward!… (altro)

Landon and Elle have a one-night stand where Landon is pretending to be his more outgoing twin brother Luca. They don't think they will ever see each other again, but of course she turns out to be his new next-door neighbor and a teacher at his daughter's school. This is definitely a grumpy/sunshine book. Landon has been living with grief and guilt for so long, he is not sure he can claw his way out of it. Elle is also trying to escape a troubled past. I really liked their chemistry. Since this is the third book in a series, I also know a lot about the supporting characters, and I really love the family dynamics. Again, this is not my usual read, but I'm hooked for some reason. On to the next one!… (altro)

Carter and Grace - Book two in the Boston's Billionaire Bachelors series.
This is a workplace romance as well as a brother's best friend romance. Grace is the best friend of Carter's brother Oliver who was the main character in the first book. In Doctor Mistake, Carter is an OBGYN and the attending to Grace who is in her residency to become an OBGYN. So essentially, he is her boss and it is a conflict of interest for them to be involved romantically. When they succumb to temptation and become involved, Grace doesn't want anyone to know. She is also epileptic and has not had a seizure for over 4 years. There is a mean girl fellow resident who wants to cause trouble for Grace as well as a few other obstacles that they will need to overcome if they are going to make it as a couple.

This series is not my normal read, but for some reason I'm kind of hooked into the stories. These books are kind of like potato chips. I think I'll just keep on reading.

I will admit that I chose to read this based on an Instagram ad. I kind of like stories where the couple knew each other in high school and meet again at a class reunion and sparks fly. This was one of those. The book literally starts with Oliver and Amelia both going to their 10-year class reunion. Amelia was a poor kid who went to the prestigious school on a scholarship and her dad was a janitor at the school. Oliver was a golden boy. Rich, talented and all the girls wanted to date him. Both Amelia and Oliver have their reasons for being at the reunion and both have more reasons why they don't want to be there. Oliver observes the mean girls from high school treating Amelia badly at the check in table and decides to make it look like she is there with him. They go on to decide to go a step further with this deception and pretend that they are engaged. What seems like a one night deception to get back at a few people turns into a really big deal the next morning.

I liked this. It was a little too steamy for me, but I liked Oliver and Amelia as well as Amelia's teenage sister. Of course, they have insecurities that it took them a while to get over - basically the whole book - but I was never bored reading this. It was an easy, low stress read. This is the first book in a series that follows the rest of Oliver's brothers, all of whom are doctors, as they meet the loves of their lives. I think I'll go ahead and try the next book.
