Matt Napier's breakaway rhymes and hard-checking expository text team up with the top-shelf illustrations of Melanie Rose to elucidate this increasingly popular game for every beginning hockey aficionado. Highlighting rules, players, coaches, teams, and the history of the game, it is both fun and educational.
This is a great picture book for Maple Leaf fans. Matt Napier never disappoints. My husband and I had fun trying to answer the questions posed with the numbers. Obviously not every number from 1 to 100 is represented in this book, but there are several along the way coupled with Maple Leaf trivia. The fun facts stumped my husband, an avid Leaf's fan. The illustrations were a cross between photographs and computer generated graphics that were colourful (a lot of blue and white) and detailed. I am going to buy my husband one as a stocking stuffer for Christmas so he can share it with our grandson. A wonderful book for the 100th anniversary of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

This book is about hockey and discusses different aspects of hockey, from positions to players in alphabet form. Each page talks about a different letter and what goes with it. For example, L is for Lord Stanley's Cup which is the best achievement a team can achieve.
