Love on Trial: An American Scandal in Black and White di Earl Lewis
A great history of a trial that gripped the nation. Extensive research into newspaper accounts bring the sense of the nation to the forefront as the court battle over what constituted blackness played out. A very engrossing read with a surprise ending. Not what I was expecting, but gave me plenty to think about.
