Excellent time-spanning miniseries. I didn't care for the art in the first few pages, but it grew on me. My only other complaint is Dazzler's miscolored costume on the cover (taken from issue 2's cover, with the same goof).

I especially liked the ties to "Kraven's Last Hunt," as well as how neatly each era's oddities proved critical to solving the mystery. Very well done, and I'd love to see more such stories.

The inclusion of X-Men #35 is a neat bonus, and while its storytelling is painful by modern standards, it's a very nice way to round out the book.… (altro)

A continuing story that jumps across years of team-ups between Spider-Man and the various X-Men teams, as they realize that many of their battles have been against a common enemy, Sinister, who plans to use the X-Men's DNA to create a new genetically altered race of subservient mutants. I always like to see how the normally solo Spider-Man is handled in team-ups, and there are a few good moments here, but on the whole, there's not a lot of interest here in terms of story or art. Not really bad, just a bit better than mediocre. There is a reprint story at the end of the first meeting between Spidey and the X-Men for historical interest.… (altro)

This was a fun read, although there's nothing earth-shattering in the pages. The art is good, and the plot moves along nicely. If you've been a fan of Marvel for a while (or at least know a lot of what major events and plot devices have happened over its history), then you'll enjoy this more. There is talk about Spider-man's clone saga, Wolverine missing his adamantium skeleton and claws, Mr. Sinister's obsession with getting DNA samples from various mutants, and the like.

This trade collects the four issues from X-Men and Spider-Man, along with one page from X-Men #27 (the first time Spider-Man met any X-Men) as well as the complete issue of X-Men #35 (the first time that Spider-Man paired up with the X-Men).… (altro)
