Well, first off, sorry about the giant type and pic, that was the best I could do without a resizing tool on my computer. As for the story....

I find it very interesting how this company tries to mix supernatural beings with other superheroes. Aside from Blade, I didn't see that happening, but it worked!! I especially loved the various feuds happening at once: vampires vs. werewolves, superheroes vs. Gary, Gary vs. his vampire friend. (Long Story) There was quite a bit of gore, and some material people would find inappropriate, but all in all it is a very fun series. I just hope my school library approves it so I can read more! Then again, I may just be on edge because it left me on a cliffhanger! :P ( )

Too nasty too soon. Kirkman's INVINCIBLE got dark, too, but it eased us into it and gave us a lot of heart and characterization first. This one gets irredeemably dark in the first volume. I'm out.

A new take on the story of werewolves and vampires, set in the same universe as Robert Kirkman's Invincible series. Like Invincible, it is very compelling; Kirkman sets up situations and takes them to their logical, if gory, conclusions. Where other comic books would use a deus ex machina to avoid character deaths or even to avoid major character personality changes, Kirkman is fearless in changing things up, right from the very start. Like Invincible, this comic could be accused of being more blood-filled (and guts-filled, and brain-splatter filled, you get the point), than is needed. But if you're okay with that, there is much to enjoy in this graphic novel, which contains the first seven issues of the comic book series and some extras such as artists sketches.
