This is probably the most well known book for children in the last 10+ years. As a preschool teacher, my students enjoy reading this book on a daily basis, the illustration in this book is childish enough for youth children to enjoy but also it has enough detail for adults to appreciate as well. The story goes into the life of a caterpillar and how he eats until he can’t anymore and at the end of the story their is a fun surprise. This story is about a caterpillar that gets out of its egg and starts eating everything as days go by. This book is great for teaching kids the days of the week and what caterpillars eat as well. This book is targeted towards primary students, specifically pre k or kindergartners. Well this book brings tears to my eyes. I read this to my children nearly every day when they were little. They would point to the food and put their little fingers in the holes. I would have my hand on the other side of the page and tickle the pads of their finger. They would giggle and giggle. Thank you for this wonderful story, Eric, and rest in peace. Mostly here to say rest in peace to the author, I know he's dead and can never see this comment but I really want to say he helped shape my childhood and I remember everybody painting caterpillars just like this book had an elementary school. It was quite the experience and we painted nothing but caterpillars and butterflies for a month and I loved it. I wonder how many generations have painted the same caterpillars and butterflies open over in so many different ways, it's a beautiful tradition and I hope it lives on to this day. Sadly after his passing the caterpillar did not eat one of the stars I left on this review, nor did he eat any of the words I'm leaving behind. I fear that him and the grumpy ladybug will fade into obscurity, it's up to us to keep them relevant forever. That caterpillar is a butterfly flying free now. Appartiene alle Collane Editoriali

A humorously ravenous caterpillar gives Cookie Monster and Winnie the Pooh a run in the gluttony department and gives a cute and tidy introduction to the life cycle of butterflies. (
