As I began reading this book, the scenery and descriptive language at the beginning of the book captured my imagination. Robin Patchen creates stories full of interesting characters, mesmerizing storylines, and more. I find myself unable to put the books down.

Tabby, Fitz, Fitz’s sister Shelby, Abe, and the rest of the characters in this book bring to life a story involving theft, danger, faith in God, and more. I found this story to contain the perfect combination of danger, adventure, and more. I believe one of my favorite parts of this story results from the story of Fitz and his ex-partner Abe. Even in the worst of times and possibly worst of situations, God performs acts that bring people together in the way God meant for them to be.

Tides of Duplicity is filled with action, danger, and many twists and turns that include an antique box, a half million dollar's worth of jewels, and a man who is part of an Irish mob operating out of Boston. After enjoying the company of Fitz McCaffrey during a two-week vacation in Belize, Tabitha Eaton plans to return to Coventry, New Hampshire. Great characters, a beautiful setting, and an intriguing mystery help make this an entertaining novel but it is Robin Patchen's strong faith message that really impressed me! I recommend Tides of Duplicity to all who enjoy Christian romantic suspense.

From the start of the book you can tell this is going to be a non stop thriller. Tabby and Fitz meet in Belize and hit it off right away. Little does Tabby know that her life is about to be turned upside down. The setting is beautiful as the couple gets to know each other. All seems great when Tabby returns to the states. But lurking in the distance is a mystery unraveling with Tabby as the main suspect.

Fitz is described as quite attractive and his charm is natural. As a private detective he runs into some questionable people. His sister is everything to him and when her life is in danger, he goes full throttle to save her. Somehow Tabby is accused of a crime that puts her life as well as Fitz and her sister in grave danger. I loved how the story never lagged and kept me on my toes. It’s a race to see if Fitz can prove Tabby innocent before anyone gets hurt.

The faith element in the story shows how the characters trust God and never give up. At times they don’t know if they can keep one step ahead of the people after them. Faith is evident as Fitz relays on God to make good decisions and seek the truth.

The author throws in a few surprises that have me second guessing who the guilty people are. They are ruthless and have no problem doing what is necessary to get their merchandise back. It made me mad that they would use Fitz’s daughter as leverage against him. He and Tabby are in survival mode as they travel where the leads take them. Will they find out who the real thief is? If you are looking for an action packed faith filled clean read, this is a must read.

Back before his life fell apart, he’d been honorable and good.

The author has once again given us a book that is impossible to set aside until finished! The warm beginning at a lovely resort in Belize quickly becomes cold and scary with the return to ‘normal’ life in New Hampshire and Rhode Island. Tabby thoroughly enjoyed her time on vacation, even getting to know Fitz, a relationship that wouldn’t go anywhere since they lived in different states. Still, it was a real treat to be on her own, responsible only for herself for a change.

Fitz, a former law enforcement officer, is vacationing with his young sister, his ward. Suddenly things seem to turn upside down and he is left with trying to unravel the mystery. The action just heats up with break-ins, kidnapping and more. Will they ever solve the mystery and learn to live without fear, trusting that God has only the best in mind for all of them?

This book had a lot of twists and turns, mystery and suspense. Each character was so well written and fit so nicely in the story. It starts in Belize where two strangers meet and immediately feel a connection. They enjoy their time together but they have to go back to reality. When Tabby leaves and goes back up to New England, Fritz is sorry to see her go but was shocked when he is shown a video of her stealing jewels. The mobsters kidnap Fritz’s sister, who he is in charge with since their parents died. Fritz finds it hard to believe Tabby would do it but the video seems to prove it. The story goes on with Fritz trying to get the jewels back and his sister chasing the mobsters. The story kept you on your toes with all the mystery and surprise. Great book and highly recommend it.
