"If you've always loved the idea of meal prepping, but never felt ready to begin, you've come to the right place. The Vegan Meal Prep Cookbook takes the guesswork out of meal planning and sets you up with simple, make-ahead recipes that keep your fridge full and your schedule free. If you're a vegan and frequently on the go, it can be hard to find plant-based options that you can not only eat, but want to eat. In many cases, packing your own goods is both the healthier, and more delicious, option. But it's not always easy to figure out what to pack and how. With The Vegan Meal Prep Cookbook, author Jackie Sobon does all the "figuring" for you, giving you meal plans you can start on Sunday-or whatever day works for you-and use throughout the week. From bulk grains and beans to big-batch sauces and soups you can use in all sorts of different ways (think Creamy Butternut Squash Soup drizzled over a baked potato or rice), there'll be no more "What's for dinner?!" panicking. You'll also find ideas for great car breakfasts and work lunches, along with all the tips and tools you'll need to plan ahead and make your life easier. With more than 100 recipes and 10 weekly plans (plus Jackie's signature stunning photography), meal prep success is in the bag!"--… (altro)

**I received a temporary ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.**

I enjoyed the concept of this cookbook immensely. As a young family of 5, we are constantly on the go and always looking for ways to make eating healthy easier. This book certainly would help with that. The only issue I really had is that we're not actually vegan, so I found myself adapting some of the recipes to our more paleo way of living. This created a little extra work, but wasn't too bad. I mean, it's really my fault since the book is obviously vegan! And some of the recipes ran a tad pricey for us. My kids enjoyed several of the recipes we tried and I enjoyed finding new ways to "hide" veggies and make healthy meals in advance. All in all I would recommend this book to those looking to find new ways to eat healthy. ( )

Vegan Yack Attack’s Plant-Based Meal Prep

Meal planning is something I have always wanted to try. I remember having the calendar out, allotting two days each week to husband, daughter and son and letting them choose the menu for the days that were theirs but it never lasted long. I know that planning is supposed to save time but so far have always found the organizational skills lacking or time lacking or whatever.

I believe THIS book would be beneficial to any number of plant-based vegan eaters who would like to begin planning meals for one or an entire family. The information is succinct about how to set yourself up for success and includes information on how to choose meals, where to find the recipes in the book, how to create a shopping list, what to put the food into for best storage, a four week planning device (again with recipes and page numbers) and plenty of delicious recipes to plunk into a planning grid when you are ready to begin.

The recipes that grabbed my interest were:
* Lemon-rosemary chickpea pasta casserole
* Naked seitan picata
* Peanut butter pancake sandwiches
* Shakshuka (really would love to try making those “eggs”)
* More than one snack/dessert
* Lentil walnut sausage crumbles (though I can’t find some of the ingredients where I live)
* More than one dressing/sauce

My only quibble is that more than one of these recipes requires an item I cannot find in local grocery stores but if I lived where I could find those ingredients I would make quite a few of the recipes in this book and give meal planning and prepping a try.

Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Fair Winds Press for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Included 6 different meal plans, with a special session on sauces. I was not able to try any of the recipes, but I saved white bean dip, sunflower sour cream, and the cashew ranch to try later. ( )
