For those who’ve read the first two books in the trilogy, Beauty in Battle brings everything together in a fast, frantic, and intense conclusion you do not want to miss.

All the buildup comes to a head, all the questions are answered, and everything I hoped for the end of Harper’s story.

I loved how Robin Patchen told this story in three installments instead of one lengthier book as there really are three separate parts that resonate best when revealed separately. There is enough tension in each to keep you wanting more and reaching for the next book to find out how much Harper must endure and whether she will come out the other side a stronger woman who will learn to lean into God when the worst happens.

For me, this installment in the series was just exceptional! When Beauty in Flight ended with a cliffhanger, I was salivating to see what would happen next to the two main characters named “Red” and Harper. Harper is Red’s caretaker, but she has become more than that. They have developed a deep family love which is what prompts Harper to take drastic measures to ensure Red is not in danger.
Harper feels as if she can no longer trust any man to care for her without having ulterior motives. However, Red is like the grandfather she never had who returns her equal love and devotion. Red’s biological grandson, Derrick, is in deep debt to loan sharks but Red won’t give him more money which just enables Derrick’s gambling addiction.
Harper is drawing near to God, learning to trust Him even when life is throwing one hardship after another before she even recovers from the first one. Now Harper’s landlord is showing her what true friends are for even when Harper is keeping the truth from him. Before long they realize they have a blooming relationship when all the well-conceived plans to stay in hiding to protect her and Red’s life fall apart.
Robin’s writing is very well crafted as she brings readers deeper into the story, yet without a slip or hint she is keeping back a vital piece to the mystery. Now, I am off to enjoy the exciting conclusion to the Beauty in Flight Series with the last book titled, Beauty in Battle. I hope you will enjoy the series as much as I am!

'True freedom could only be found in the far side of obedience and trust!' With everything stacked against her, Harper was learning the truth of that statement. Trusting had brought her nothing but grief before this, so why should it be any different now. I thoroughly enjoyed the conclusion to this ongoing battle for true freedom. The spiritual growth shown by Harper was wonderful to observe. Could she possibly learn to believe that God cared enough to heal broken hearts and even bring families back together again?

The final book in this trilogy ends on a high note. So glad, that I did decide to stick the first book out. Harper won me over. She went from a victim to a fighter. Although, she did have some help along the way with Jack and Red. Both men that I am glad were in Harper's life.

Red helped to provide the humor. Either because of his age or he liked to embarrass Harper; he would say things that would make me laugh or smile. Maybe it was a little of both. Where Jack is concerned; he was the rock that Harper needed. He stepped in when he had to but allowed Harper to fight her battle. The chemistry between these two was sweet but nice at the same time.

If there was anyone that I hated more, it was Derrick. He is a horrible person. He did not care for either Harper or his grandfather, Red. All he cared about was himself. ( )
