This one you won't stop until you've finished and then you will immediately want the next book in the series! Harper is a young lady that has seen the unfortunate side of life. As a convicted felon with time served, finding a job to love is difficult. A private nurse to a wonderful old gentleman seems just perfect.....or is it? Stalking, assault, gambling and even murder find their way into this quiet world. What to do now, but get the second book in the series to find out! I received this copy through CelebrateLit. All impressions and opinions are my own. I read "Beauty in Hiding" (Beauty in Flight #2) first and liked it so much, I got the ebook for this one. If you love Christian romantic suspense, you will love this book! WARNING: Once you start reading you will NOT want to put it down! I love Robin’s writing style, very engaging. Her descriptions of the characters and settings was colorful and gave a richness to the main story and all the contributing story lines. I found myself really liking some of the characters and strongly disliking others. I have known a man who was like her character Red. The characters Robin brought in added depth and helped keep you guessing how it would all tie together. Her descriptions of the interactions between characters were so colorful that I could visualize them. All of the dialogue and situations were believable—which is not always the case. The way that the characters talk about and exhibit their faith in God flows naturally throughout the book. It does not come across as contrived or just sprinkled in. IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! I couldn't wait to see how the author developed the characters and plot. Her descriptions of the characters, settings, and scenery are so vivid. As you read the emotions the characters are experiencing you know exactly what is going on with them. Can't wait to read book #3! It is a good thing that Harper is the main lead character in this book and series. She is about the only character that I liked and formed a emotional connection towards. Well there is one other person that I did like and that was Derrick's grandfather, Red. He was so kind. It was puzzling that Derrick and Red are related as Red is so nice and Derrick is a jerk. So the beginning of the story was good. I even stuck with this story to almost the half way point. I will admit that I did skip ahead after this to about the last third of the story. The last third really picked up speed. It did help make up some for the dull moments. In fact, I actually liked what I read in the last third of the book and how it ended that I am intrigued to see what happens to Harper in the next book. Title: Beauty in Flight (Beauty in Flight #1) Author: Robin Patchen Pages: 162 Year: 2019 Publisher: JDO My rating: 5 out of 5 stars The second and third books in the series are due out in March and April this year, and I cannot wait to see where the suspense takes me! The author has a gift of weaving a thriller as if the reader is right there viewing the scenes in person. There are excitement and adventure with every page! In the story, a young woman who had been a former prison inmate is now working at a nursing home as she loves to care for the elderly. Harper Cloud longs to be loved for who she is and though her dream of becoming an R. N. is no longer viable, she is grateful to work caring for the elderly while also taking classes at a college. But no matter where Harper goes, there is a nagging feeling that she is being watched. Is she being stalked? When she takes a job and moves across country, Harper feels safe and with a new lease on life. But is that real or an optical allusion? Is her new life and promising future now being threatened? Stay tuned! Note: I received a complimentary copy for an honest review of this book. The opinions shared in this review are solely my responsibility. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

As readers follow Harper Cloud from Las Vegas to Maryland, Patchen draws us into the comfort Harper finds as a private nurse while slowly drawing us into the mystery of exactly what is going on with Derek.
Beauty in Flight is an excellent introduction to Harper as we get a sense of her guilt and remorse for her past decisions, her determination to move forward and live a better life than she was before, and her compassion in helping others.
The slow build of suspense kept me involved in this story, and I was not ready for it to end, which makes the fact there are two more books starring Harper Cloud the best kind of news.
