This story starts off in Chicago with the theft of several historical Hawaiian coastal charts from an exhibit at the Art Institute and from a museum in Milwaukee. The charts are sought after by different parties for clues to a hidden treasure off the coast of Hawaii. The treasure consists of stolen gold from the Hawaiian treasury around the time the islands became a U.S. territory.
The story has several groups competing to find the treasury. One is Japanese crime group that is looking for the money to restore their standing within the Japanese crime families. The other group is a Hawaiian native group that is wanting to use the money to finance an independence movement.
This story is well told with several interconnected alliances between the two groups trying to find the treasure. The Storms are caught in the middle of two of the groups.
This is a good quick read that is perfect for that summer vacation. I hope you enjoy the story. ( )
