Found: Dystopian or fantasy book I read a long time ago

There was a book I read a long time ago that was about a girl. She had a metaphorical garden in her head that was shrinking rapidly but she soon started to train herself to get her garden to start growing again. I really enjoyed the book and it bugs me that I can't remember the title. Does anyone know what book I'm talking about? I wanted to read it again but the title escaped me hardcore.
