Found: Sci Fi Aliens w/Human Story

I am trying to find a book. Its a sci-fi and likely is from the 70s, 80s, or 90s. Some things I remember.

It is a science fiction book.
It is probably from either the late 70s, the 80s, or the early 90s just from when I read it.
There is a spaceship, I believe it is headed for Earth.
There is only one human on board.
The human has alien friends. Some of their names are Oberon, Demeter, Polly.
The human is weaker than the aliens, but the aliens have some weakness he is able to exploit. Related to mating?
The play Midsummers night dream comes up, hence the alien names.

I can really grab anything other than this from my memory. Any ideas?
