Very slow export

I think Export has become very very slow. (I have 8000 books, so I don't expect it to be super quick, but 20 minutes?)
Not sure if it counts like a bug, though.

10.42 local time - started "Export your library as Tab-delimited text"
10.45 1200 books processed
10.48 2400 books processed
10.53 4500 books processed
10.58 6700 books processed
11.03 Processing done (8,043 records)

i.e. about 400 books per minute.

(BTW Talk is also a pain to use sometimes. I have "Groups and Posts" selected but often it just gives me the left and top menu, but nothing listed and no indication of an timeout.)

This is a bit like watching paint dry. I'd pay real money for a quicker export.

I'm seeing a pretty big delay around the time you posted. Do you mean the export has become very slow generally, as in more than just around the time you posted? Or, how's it looking for you now? Sorry for the trouble.

I don't know about exports, but LT has been very slow for the past few days. Including right now.

I'm not the OP, but I've seen this too. It's generally quite a bit slower now.

I don't have any numbers for earlier exports, but anecdotally... I used to wait on the page but lately I wander off to do other things and check back later. I did watch the one I just did, which took about 5 minutes for my 3896 records. Faster than bnielsen's, but still a lot slower than it used to be.

>2 kristilabrie: I think that not so long ago it took 5 minutes for the same export that now takes 20, so it's not just now.

So yes, it's gotten slow generally and on top of that, it was extra slow today. (Enough to make me time it.)

>3 MarthaJeanne: >4 antqueen: and >5 bnielsen: Heard. I'm sure the devs are aware and monitoring the situation but I'll pass along regardless! Sorry for the trouble.

>5 bnielsen: Just ran a test on my side of the pond on comma delimited. Took about 6.5 min for about 8400 entries. There were 155 logons listed if that has much impact. That is a bit long as it normally takes around 4 to 5 minutes. . . but I haven't run an export for a while.

>7 ulmannc: Thanks. It's always nice to have some idea about what "normal" speed is.
