First off, fun to see a Wallace-head group in LT. The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry has not just one but two references to IJ. I found it amusing to see the most time consuming of my recent reads come up in a book that I finished in three or so hours (way enjoyable book BTW)

Yeah, thanks for that. Touch stoning The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry for future reference. Makes me wonder if there've been other references to IJ in fiction?

anna_in_pdx- I hope you enjoy the book. A neighbor in the sleepy (except for last week with the (now ex-) Gov.
EnriqueFreeque-another person with a geographical connection- I'm CMC '77- fond memories of Claremont. As for references to IJ, might be old news to you, the Decemberist's Calamity Song video adapts the Eschaton game episode in IJ that went out of control.

4> It really is a small synchronized world sometimes isn't it? Curious to learn if your Claremont connection spurred your interest in DFW or IJ?

Yeah, that is old news re. the Decembrists, but hey, it's old news worth referencing anew: Calamity Song.

5- I didn't find out about DFW until mid 2000's when I read his NYT article on Roger Federer. I was pretty impressed with the Claremont Colleges when I heard he was going to be teaching in Pomona. I didn't start reading his books until several years ago. Then I became a fan.
