Who knew being an interstellar ambassador required so many PR events? Earth’s economy is unaccountably booming, and the wheelers and dealers of Union station stage one diplomatic reception after another to entice Ambassador Kelly Frank to give them a cut of the action.
Meanwhile, Max’s son is becoming a galactic gaming star. Plus la change, I guess.
But then a mob of Wanderers shows up—millions of planetless, multi-species nomads whose philosophy seems to be that the road goes on forever and the party never ends. Will they steal your children like gypsies of folklore?
Will there be an invasion of meddlesome AIs who just want to help?

The story follows the adventures of an earth ambassador on a space station. For once a story where trade is in the focus. Lots of humor and absurd situations that reminds me in attitude to that glorious old sf novels from Harry Harrison.

DNF, bailing at 27% on this free ebook. Started interesting and amusing, but I am bored now.

It's not bad, as stories go, so far. I like the prose, I just want a more interesting story than a bunch of fake human AI studying humans and acting human, mostly. The MC is fairly dorky considering how old he/it is supposed to be. Oh well, it was worth a try.

Foner, E. M. Traders on the Galactic Tunnel Network. EarthCent Auxiliaries No. 2. Foner Books, 2021.
Traders on the Galactic Tunnel Network is the sequel to Freelance on the Galactic Tunnels Network. You need to have read at least one other Galactic Tunnel Network or Union Station story to not feel lost in Foner world. A freelance reporter, her intelligence agent partner, and their telepathic gryphon companion investigate the smuggling of Earth’s flora, fauna, and topsoil. Fun, lightweight stuff. 3.5 stars.… (altro)
