The Be Bold! Be Brave!: 11 Latinas who made U.S. History book by author Naibe Reynoso is a biography book that contains and notes the 11 stories of Latina women who have shaped U.S. History. Additionally, this book contains bilingual literacy in which it is written in both English and Spanish to create a representation for Spanish native speakers. This book could be connected towards history and science content areas as in history, it can correlate to Latina women who have made an impact towards U.S. history such as Sonia Sotomayor who was mentioned within the book as she was the first Latina Supreme Court Justice. Additionally, other important figures who were mentioned that could be correlated within the science content area could be Ellen Ochoa, the first Latina to go into space, and Antonia Novello, the first female U.S. Surgeon General. This book is an amazing book that can give hope and serve as a representation for students that are of Latin or Hispanic ethnicity in addition to being a representation towards young girls.
