Loved it. It was a story of such heartbreak but then it turned right around and mended your heart back together. Hallie and Ian had a young love that went through so much trials and tribulations that it split them up then years later fate brought them back together but Hallie had a heart full of hate and Ian had a heart full of regrets. Trust me you will love everything g about it and want to read it again and again.

“I’m making amends to show you that I’m a changed man, but also because it’s all I can do. I can’t change my wrongdoings. I can admit them. I can apologize for them. But that’s not enough.”

“hate isn’t the opposite of love. That’d be indifference.”

At first I was a little scared of this book, not that I thought it would be bad but it was a new theme to me, but as I read it it became an instant favorite. Courtney is tired of the dating scene and wants to skip it all and go straight for marriage, white picket fence, etc. So she hires a matchmaking company to find her a husband who she won’t know anything about until she walks down the aisle. This turned out to be so so amazing that I could not put it down. At times Courtney did irritates me some because she could be so stubborn and determined to do things her way she couldn’t see others around her trying to help. The love story was unique but so endearing and the ending left me feeling so sad because I want these two to have their happy ending but they are about to face a world full of trials and tribulations. So will they stand and fight together or let the outside world break them apart? Can not wait for the second book.

After having a friend with benefits fling with Ramona, who is a seasonal worker, Tanner finds himself amid chaos, when the lady snaps and tries several antics to sink her claws into him. Barely getting out of the crazy situations she put him in, Tanner finds out that she is coming back this summer and now he needs to enlist someone to be his fake fiancé. McKenna has had her own issues that has left her in a bind, but finding Tanner’s ad and heading to Skagway to help him sounds like the perfect way to get out of her problems. The first time they meet neither one is hugely impressed with the other because McKenna is a tiny wisp of thing and Tanner is this Viking like god and not the other’s type, or so they think. The more time they spend together they form a friendship of sorts while fighting an attraction that surprises them both. The slow burn that has you anticipating the fireworks you know that they will have keeps you glued in and is well worth the wait because the time it takes them to form a friendship to more gives them a much stronger foundation for what’s to come. The visuals the author gives us of this gorgeous scenery and town with its quirky towns people is absolutely stunning and the family the Stewarts have leaves you craving more stories from each one.

This book follows top divorce attorney in LA, Addison DeWitt, she is amazing with a hard work ethic, smart, independent, and great at what she does. She is also a twin to a brother, Elliott, who is a laid-back adrenaline junkie and sometimes druggie that has no care, loves his sister, but not enough to stop his death wish. Elliott calls Addison and it’s a broken-up message but when she finally figures some things out she realizes her twin is stranded somewhere in Alaska so she does what the responsible twin always does and sets off to find Elliott and save him once again. She never expects to be attracted to the pilot, Gideon, that agrees to help her search for her brother, but she is and so is he. These two have an insane chemistry but are shrouded in despair because Addy is in a state of hopelessness and shock looking for Elliott, but they can’t fight it for too long because they need each other. Throughout the story we learn that Addy comes from a rough homelife when she was young and has only had herself to depend on so when tragedy strikes, she is alone, lashes out at Gideon, and walks away to a lonely and reckless lifestyle. Addison spiraling out of control was understandable because she had lost so much, so I understood why she did what she did and why she felt like she had to. Though I understood her I was still a little upset at her because of the position this put her in and I thought Gideon was entirely too forgiving, but he loved her and she was really regretful for her actions so I eventually forgave her too. Towards the end I felt happy that these two were starting to figure out their lives together, but I also felt that Addison was doing more than “compromising”. We are told they came to a compromise on most things, but not really shown it and I get the feeling that Addy did more convincing to an emotionally invested Gideon and he was willing to do so much for her but I got the feeling she wasn't willing to do as much for him so it kind of made me angry towards her. Gideon was kind, caring, loving, accepting, and he was there for Addy through thick or thin so I hated he had to give up so much,, but he loved Addy and would do anything for her. I was happy when she finally realized how much she loved him, and he meant to her and that they found their happiness as a family. This was a great emotional read and can’t wait for more from this series.

This one was recommended to me, and I honestly don't know what to make of it. This book is a lot. There's a mass shooting, torture, attempted murder, a bit of Stockholm syndrome/romance, some iffy genetics, and instant genealogy research. Parts were interesting, and parts just didn't make sense.
It's told in dual POV by the hero Cassidy and the heroine Brynn, a format I like a lot in contemporary romance. It's also mostly set in Maine where I live and I love this state. But that made a few things feel off.
For example, city girl Brynn who lives in San Francisco decides that backwoods wilderness is just fine (do you know how many people can't make it through a Maine winter?). The author does a nice job of describing Millinocket and its environs, but there's no way Brynn is able to get all that personal information in one day from town clerks and hospital people. And I'm pretty sure some of that genetic science has been disproved, or at best, found unreliable. Anyway, enough with the nitpicking.
Cassidy is a sweetheart, and Brynn is okay, if a little scattered (hiking alone on Katahdin is a big no-no).I liked the description of Cassidy's home, which is how a lot of people live in Maine. There were a few too many coincidences, but also I liked the twist at the end. I'm not sorry I read this, but it wasn't quite for me.

Unloved, a Love Story. Katy Regnery. 2017. Cassidy has built a life for himself a la “The whole-earth catalogue,” in the Maine mountains. He has promised his mother and himself that he will never fall in love. He is the son of a notorious serial killer and believes he cannot risk falling in love and having children. Byne is recovering from the death of her fiancé, decides to go to Maine to bury his phone on a mountain he loved. Cassidy and Byne meet and fall in love. What will happen? This is the plot. The violence and soft porn may not suit everyone.½

Sweet and charming, although it verged on a little too emo. It read like a New Adult title, but without the major sexual assault that seems so popular among that genre. Both MCs were in their late twenties, with actual careers and responsibilities and stuff, so it didn't strike exactly the right vibe for me. I was with it though, right until the epilogue got a little too "and they lived happily ever after" and wrapped up everything with a bow. Given the real-life lens on the previous everything, it felt disingenuous.

It also appears that this was self-pubbed. It's well-formatted, well-edited, and very professional looking. Even though the end let me down quite a bit, I wouldn't have felt insulted if I had actually paid real money for this (I got it for free at Amazon.)

DNF, bailed (haha) at 23% not because of any single scene, but after a series of annoyances.

First and most importantly, Skye is frustrating, and while that's not a deal breaker as it gives her room to grow, I need a heroine more attentive to her right to exist. Or a better reason for her ignoring Pat's behavior than not having a mom.

Second, Brooke is just boring.

Third, this is a very white, hetero-centric, binary, cast. After reading far more diverse works, this just feels plastic.

It's well written, just not a story for me.

I enjoyed this but not as much as others seemed to. I generally love stories that start when the characters are young and fall in love. And that part was nicely done but I think the story suffered because I knew they were going to break up and get back together years later. I was sort of wincing in anticipation throughout the first part. I liked the interlude but ultimately I felt the getting back together was shortchanged. It was too quick and easy. I guess I would have liked the first part to be shorter and the last to be longer instead of vice versa. I did very much enjoy the way he loved her though and the fact that he too had remained celibate while they were apart.

Another great book by Katy . Once I started this book i found it hard to put down
I couldn't wait to find out what happened between Kate and Etienne . I had not
read the other books in this series but i will definitely be reading them now!

Kate and Etienne met and fell in love when they were 15 , and never saw each other
again for 12 years , each believing the other did not want anything to do with them
any more. Will they find their way back to each other ?
You will have to read the book to find out what happens !

I started this book before reading the blurb but I didn't like the premise.
The Hero seemed weak to have been swept along into an engagement and he is kissing the heroine before he has finished his engagement.
Not for me.

A good story.
Dark subject in the background, older villian trying to marry a girl 30 years her senior, whether she wants to or not but no details of anything dark.
It starts with her attending a funeral and I wished the person who had died had faked their death, was bit sad.
No cheating.
No ex drama, though the Hero is sworn off women due to a bad experience.
The heroine is 18 years old and has had a very sheltered life so as to be kept 'pure' so she is a virgin.
The Hero isn't but it's been some time since he's been with anyone else and he certainly isn't a man-whore.
They have a rocky initial first meeting but then it's kind of insta.
HEA.
Epilogue.
Dual POV plus diary excerpts from a diary of another character.
