This book was a really fun sequel for Pride and Prejudice told from Georgiana's point of view. This book takes place during Georgiana's preparation for and presentation into society and shows how she grows from being nervous about being presented at court and going to balls to becoming a strong and confident young woman and discovering she is in love with her cousin Colonel Fitzwilliam. They are an interesting couple and I have not come across many books about them and I enjoyed watching how Georgiana pursued winning Colonel Fitzwilliam as well as their relationship once it began. While I did really enjoy this book I would have liked an epilogue at the end as well.

Mr. Darcy’s Little Sister by C. Allyn Pierson is the perfect continuation of a classic tale. Georgiana Darcy finds she must learn to overcome her shy tendencies if she is ever to find love in her family ,friends and possibly a husband. Pierson took great care to keep to true Austen tone we first meet these characters in.
I found the book started a little slow but by page 120 I was hooked till the end and would love to read more.
One book I am happy to have received from First Reads.

Mr. Darcy's Little Sister by C.Allyn Pierson is a Pride and Predjudice variation about the Bennets and Darcy's and the upcoming marriages of these two families. It is also about Georgiana Darcy's upcoming debut into society. A story that is about who will make the perfect husband or wife. Mr.Darcy woos and weds Elizabeth Bennet, who is not from the same social class as Mr.Darcy. Elizabeth learns to cope with the treatment of people who do not think she is good enough for Mr.Darcy and Fitzwilliam does not think that any of the suitors are good enough for his little sister. Other characters include the Bennet sisters, Jane, Lydia and Kitty. Jane marries Mr.Bingley and Lydia has run off with George Wickham . Georgiana is amiable and sweet and is very happy to have a 'sister' in Elizabeth but Georginia is shy and not sure how she is going to cope with all the balls and parties that require her presence so that she can meet and hopefully find a suitable husband. She is a fine catch for any man as she stands to be worth 30,000 pounds. With Elizabeths assistance Georgiania learns how to deal with the fortune hunters who want her money. Jonathan Walker is suitor want to be who needs her money for his gambling debts and will do whatever he can to obtain it. Georginia is kidnapped along with her companion Mrs. Annesley. Her rescuer is her cousin Colonel Fitzwilliam and with the assistance of Mr. Darcy find that Jonathan Walker was behind the kidnapping. Georginia starts to have feelings for the Colonel but he hasn't got a clue as to her feelings. He still thinks of her as the 'ward' that he is responsible for. I thinks that this is one of the better Pride and Prejudice sequels that I have read so far as this one was more about Georginia Darcy. This is a story of manners, upbringing, morality, education and marriage in the Regency era. I enjoyed this story very much.

I sure like my Austen books, and of course those about Lizzy and Darcy. This book was good because it was about Georgiana, and what happened to her.

Lizzy and Darcy are married and it's time for Georgiana's first season. She is really nervous, and she is still very shy. In this book she will find love, and Darcy will have an adventure of his own.

I think she did well with portraying Georgiana. She was still that shy young woman from the books, and she has a hard time in this book. And of course we met the Darcy's, in love and happy, Colonel Fitzwilliam his normal smiling self, the Bingley family (Caroline hunting for a husband), Kitty, and some new characters.

This book will have a man trying to win her hand, and he is not a nice man. She is trying to figure out what love is, and Darcy is sent to a mission to France. That part we didn't get to read about, and I think it was for the best. Cos I couldn't really see him being sent on any mission.

I loved that she got a book of her own, and it only made me want more like this. I do think Kitty deserve a book, she is sure to be very much more well behaved after Lydia is gone.

The negative part was also positive. She fell in love, he was in love, everyone was happy, but there was this one thing, I can't say it, you have to read it and see what I mean.

All in all a good book, and all my Austen characters were as they should be.

Final thoughts: For romance lovers and Austen addicts.

C. Allyn Pierson‘s Mr. Darcy’s Little Sister is full of intrigue and societal maneuvering as Georgiana, Mr. Darcy’s sister, prepares for her presentation and first Season. The novel begins just as Georgiana learns of her brother’s engagement to Elizabeth, and she worries that her new sister will not like her. In Pierson’s novel, Georgiana is full of teen worries about who will like her and how she will be judged for her actions — no matter how mundane.

Coupled with a few shifts in point of view by the omniscient narrator, accomplished through breaks in the chapters or through diary entries from Georgiana, readers not only experience Miss Darcy’s anxieties, but also the concern her new sister, Elizabeth, and her brother feel as she nears adulthood and possible marriage.

“He looked over at his sister, who was across the room talking to Jane by the fireplace, and his expression softened. Elizabeth’s eyes followed his gaze. Georgiana’s light brown hair glowed golden in the firelight and her eyes looked as green and limpid as water. They twinkled at the outer corners when she smiled, as she did now at something Jane was saying.” (Page 44 of ARC)

A charming and engaging read told from the point of view of Georgiana Darcy. As she struggles to overcome her shyness, with the help of her new sister Elizabeth, Georgiana discovers both strength of character and true love. If you like Austen sequels and retellings then I recommend this to you.½
