The life cycles of Bees and wasps are explained in logical progression. The photos are BEAUTIFUL and the web of bees and wasps insects is enhanced in ways that help children replace fear with knowledge. Good vocab builder.

Cute and interesting. If you are a cat owner there is not a lot here that is new but it will confirm a lot of what you already know. It held my interest and had great pictures. If you are new to cats this will be a good primer.

Sally Morgan's book teaches young children not only how we move but why they should exercise and what makes up our bodies. The story explains that we have bones, muscles, and what they help us do. It is filled with colorful photographs and accurate illustrations. It is a great book for young children to discover how their bodies work.

I would not recommend this book. It is difficult to read and I found it slightly boring. The book has a lot of facts about giraffes but I don't think any of my students would pick this book up and read through it.

This books covers the different parts of the body and how they all work together. I would love to use this book to read one or two pages as we cover the different functions of body parts.

This book offers a comprehensive look at the history of DNA research from Mendel to present day. It explains what DNA is, how it is formed and how it works. It provides an explanation of some genetic diseases such as Tay Sachs, sickle cell and cystic fibrosis. The book also gives brief biographies of important people in the history of DNA research, such as Mendel, Boveri and Watson and Crick. There is a glossary as well as additional resources. As a caution, the book does refer to the use of DNA in criminal and murder investigations.½

This book would be used in the classroom by the teachers. What it does is it gives teachers ideas what they could do in the classroom to introduce insects and plants. The book goes through and talks about what insects eat what and it tells you away to be able to keep insects alive in the classroom.

This is a very fun book that talks about the different kinds of goats all over the world. It talks about goat milk and cheese, uses for goat hair and skin, and what people use goats for in other countries. Students can use observation, classification, and measurement with this book. It is very educational and the science content is great. It even tells how to make a goat milk smoothie at the end of the book, as well as an index, and gives parents and teachers a page of ideas of how to incorporate it into lessons or activities. The reading level of this book would be K-3.

Nature in Danger, by Sally Morgan and Rosie Harlow, gives a look at the world of nature and informs the reader about how we are destroying habitats and harming wildlife by the way we are living. Each page has a spread on a certain topic such as where animals live, pollution problems, forests in danger, save our seas, city living, and endangered wildlife among other topics. Each topic has an activity for an individual or class to do as a whole. The activities purposes are to highlight and emphasize the lesson of the chapter.
The book has pictures and illustrations that make the book visually appealing. The illustrations have labels and many of the topics use diagrams to help illustrate the point of the topic.
This book has a lot of information but it is divided into chapters that make it easy to follow. The topics all have to do with nature but they cover a wide array of topics so the book would be useful throughout the school year for a student. The activities would be easy and fun to do, and the materials could be found in any home or classroom.

This story tells about what a body needs to move around. It tells of the many ways a body can move such as running, jumping, skipping and swimming. The book talks of the importance of bones and the skeleton. It discusses the importance of muscles and how they are important in movement. The book singles out each movement and how the body makes it happen.
This book is very colorful and eye catching. The illustrations are done on a child level so they won't scare kids if they read the book. The words are simple for young readers and listeners to understand. The book has words that promote reading readiness.
This book could be used in many different ways. One way is during a science lesson on the body and movement. This book could be used to encourage math skills such as measurement and time. This book could be used in a physical education class or with a nutrition experiment on having a healthy body and promoting strong physical growth.
