Usually I can make it through any erotica on the strength of the sex alone if that's what I'm in the mood for. Gotta say that here the sex was boring (covering mouth politely while I yawn). They were all so happy in their BDSMness. Somehow the sex seemed pretty vanilla and I'm thinking BDSM scenes should seem a bit more kinky that that. Older woman whose dom/husband let her for a sweet young thing finds love and etc., with a hot young stud/dom. The main couple just seemed so polite to each other they might as well have been baking cookies.

Thanks MelissaB for loaning it to me even if it didn't quite work for me.

Cute short story about the two men from the series 'Masked', one that stands alone quite well. It's a good introduction to the characters if you are new to the series, and a nice way to reconnect if you've read the other books. Thor and Bobby have been together for a while as Dom and sub, and are visiting Bobby's very conservative parents for Thanksgiving. The dynamic between the more disapproving father and both men is interesting, to put it carefully, as they barely manage to remain civil.

Thor is basically being 'blamed' for turning Bobby gay. Bobby's father is truly unhappy about Bobby's choice, but Thor holds up his end of the discussion really well. Not that any of his reasons or arguments will get through to the father, but Thor doesn’t expect that. The only question, for him, is whether to stay or if leaving is going to be better for Bobby in terms of having some family time.

Bobby wants Thor to stay, he clearly needs him around and loves him a lot. The little impromptu play in the woods as they take a walk only confirms that – for both of them. It is as if they're grounding themselves again, reminding themselves of what they mean to each other. The final argument that convinces Thor, is somewhat unexpected, but made me smile. It is often the little things that can make a big difference.

If you like stories about men who know their place in the world but need to convince others to accept them, if you enjoy reading about some naughty activities out in the woods, and if you're looking for a hot read with lots of love between a Dom and his sub, then you will probably enjoy.

Ink To Bear (Southern Shifters: Kindle World)
by Lissa Matthews

Gus is a big bad-ass bear shifter. Most people just take one look at him and walk the other way. That is fine with him. He doesn't form many friendships and no long relationships. He has no desire to. He is a very sought after traveling tattoo artist and this life suits him just fine. At least it did, until a woman catches his eye. He sees her as she walking into a Bank and he does the most unusual thing.....he waits for her to come back out. He has this overwhelming desire to see this woman smile. So he sets out to make her do just that, as much as he can.

Bex has just lost her mother and the only home she has ever known. Losing the home was her choice. She can't stay in her hometown. Too many bad memories. She is moving on and opening a B& B in Tennessee. She finally loses it at the bank and when she leaves, all puffy eyed, she comes face-to-face with a big, tattooed man....Gus. He offers to take her to Tennessee and she does something so unlike her, she looks him up and accepts and gets on a motorcycle.

You can figure out a lot of things while riding a motorcycle.

I fell in love with Gus from the moment I read the blurb for this book. He is just one of those souls that you know needs to find the one meant for him.

I am enjoying the Southern Shifters and look forward to reading more.

*ARC given for an honest review*
