I enjoy reading sappy Christmas stories, complete with holiday traditions and festivities. But what I love even more are those same stories with more substance, and Jackson gives readers just that in her latest release. Both Chanel and Ryder have deep wounds from their past that affect their decisions in their present.

The way these two challenge each other to forgive themselves, let go of their hurts, and embrace what God has right in front of them (and on into the future) is inspiring.

If that isn’t enough, the author adds in a disobedient (but trainable) dog and a sweet little girl who quickly found her way into my heart, and all the joy and warmth of the holidays, and The Christmas Switch is a wonderful read to cozy up with this season.

The Adoption Surprise by Zoey Marie Jackson can be summed up in one word: adorable.

Little Morgan and Mia stole the show once they meet. Jackson managed to give these two little girls distinct personalities while also showing their connection as twins (even though they are just now learning they are one in a set of two). And the healing that occurs with both Morgan and Kelsey when the Johnson family enters their orbit is wonderful.

Kelsey and Zach form a fast friendship for the girls’ sake, but when that grows to more, the progression is natural and believable. This is a book you’ll want to add to your tbr for so many reasons.

Also, please tell me that Kelsey’s besties are getting their own stories!
