The writing definitely feels more comic-booky than the other Superman stories I've read, and the story beats felt very familiar, but still overall quite enjoyable. The artwork is solid, especially the panels that don't have any dialogue that punctuate a major story beat, big fan of those. My least favorite of the Supermans I've read so far, but still enjoyable!½

Dealing with the immediate emotional fallout of the crossover event "Fear Itself", but also with the longer term consequences of the many major catastrophes in recent Marvel continuity (most notably House of M, Civil War, Secret Invasion and Dark Reign), one would think this book was messy and hard to follow, but I found it to be anything but. Instead, it's an improvement on the first two volumes (which _were_ hard to follow, especially the first one), with clear emotional stakes, and interesting thematic throughline of whether super heroes acting without regulations and supervision is really a good thing, and the return of Norman Osborn in good form.½

Good ole Cap always has a plan. When I need you to spring into action I'll call you on your cellphone. Except he forgot the "unless I'm tied to a chair in some dark dungeon without any reception". Glad to see this wasn't the end of the Avengers. ;)

About 2 1/2 stars actually.

It's been awhile since I read #1-#6, but the story was coming back to me.

Constantine has had his treasure trove of magical implements stolen by the Cold Flame. They are out to get him and all the other mages of the world.

He's in a bind.

Once I've read all the issues I'm missing, I'll be able to put more of this story together in my head but that will probably take another year.

He's back-- this is the first Superman Volume in the One Year Later reboot of Superman. It's not a full reboot. While the reader does get told the Superman origin story a couple of times there's also a lot of story that refers to what happened in the Infinite Crisis as well as during 52.

The art was okay, but what I really liked was the interaction between Lois and Clark. There never seems to be enough of pure Lois and Clark (no Superman) in the comics. I also thought that Green Lantern's offer was interesting and wish they'd gone into that subplot just a little more.

I thought it was a good collection of issues. Lots of chaos and fighting, but there was also actual story and some real seeming scenes, human scenes. Plus the pretzels made me hungry, just hold the mustard.
