The Trackers: A Novel di Charles Frazier
I like Frazier's writing, although this isn't my favorite of his, it was a good read. A few parts were a bit slow, but I enjoyed the historical part and the focus on the WPA program.

A mystery story set during the depression on a ranch in rugged Wyoming exposing the gulf between the haves and the have nots, life on the rails and in homeless camps, abortion, the unsettling power of politics with proper appearances, the mistrust of people and communities, New Deal programs, cross country air travel during its infancy, as well as self-examination, and of course a touch of a love triangle--this book is packed!
Started in December, but my first completed book for 2024! It was an audiobook and by an author that I very much appreciated in the past but didn’t follow closely (I loved Cold Mountain!!)
The narrator had a sleepy older gentleman’s voice and even though the story was its own version of action-packed, it was a pleasant voice to listen to. The Trackers was about Val, Eve, and Long, and a couple of sidekicks along the way. Val, an artist turned tracker. Eve a wife, then a wife, then not or still both? And Long a rich man trying to get office with questions just posed about Eve. The story brings to life the concept of the “Wild West” in the post-depression era. It had a touch of “Yellowstone” to the story, if you are a fan. Enjoy!… (altro)
