Another one of Ms. Ferguson’s great Bible study books.

Be prepared for real Bible study. She makes you look up the scriptures. The verses are not included in the book. I think this is a good thing as it forces you to look them up yourself and then you can use any Bible version(s) you want to use.

The format for this Bible study book is well laid out and easy to record answers to questions, work-book style. Each chapter is set up for five days of work (and not seven to allow for extra busy days in your life) and the fifth day is set up to reflect and find some application to your life from the previous four days of study. I also found the questions to be strategically placed to encourage you to discover key facts for yourself, and thereby be more likely to remember them.

Also included is relevant background information on the topic at hand and relevant personal stories at appropriate places.

Overall, most of all I felt encouraged. The entire tone was encouraging, never condemning or depressing or overwhelming.

How you use this study book seems important. To pray first seems crucial. But I would also recommend that you meditate on your own, after you read the scriptures and before you read her comments.

And, yes, I found some things out about Moses that I had never seen before.

If you like Bible studies that allow self-discovery or need help in getting deeper into the word in an easy-to-use laid-out format this book is for you.

I was blessed enough to have Mindy teach this bible study live at my church.

I highly recommend doing this study with a group but you are going to enjoy it doing it solo as well. She has done an indepth study and there is lots to be learned.

I just finished Mindy Ferguson’s, Bible Study, Peter, Eyewitness to Majesty.
What a great in-depth study on Peter’s walk from the first ‘follow me’ till his death. In this 10 week study I learned a lot about Peter, Jesus and myself.
Peter is an ordinary man, a fisherman, he was eager, impulsive, quick to speak, acted without thinking, and learned to turn his weaknesses into strengths. This could be me on any given day.
We watched Peter take risks, we watched him fail and we watched him succeed, Peter was commissioned to spread God’s word and everything that happened to him made him into the man who traveled and shared the gospel with so many.
A few of the great things this study reminded me of was that I don’t have to be perfect to experience God’ grace, not to worry about tomorrow, the downfall of judging others, how to deal with the difficult people in our lives.
I became more aware of recognizing change in my life and the work God is doing in and through me.
I enjoy the daily synopsis and the 5th day recaps, they do a great job of bringing it all together.
I would recommend this book to do individually or with a small group, so much to learn and be reminded of in during the 10 weeks.

This is definitely a Bible study—a fill-in-the-blank Bible study. One thing I loved about it was that you actually really needed your Bible! You took your Bible, read a passage, then answered questions about it in the workbook. Then on top of that the author added her own insights into the passage and invariably there was something that I did not see for myself.

It felt like the author was taking me by the hand and leading me on a journey through the gospel of Mark pointing out the sites like a tour guide might do. It felt gentle, comforting and even delightful at times.

I found this book to be not only about Peter, but more like going through the gospel of Mark with more attention paid to Peter than other characters, except perhaps for Jesus.

I found the questions to not be “leading” questions. She allows you to come to your own conclusions.

It is designed to be done five days per week, with the fifth day as a review and application day. I found that to be helpful in order to help solidify what was previously studied that week.

If you love doing Bible studies where you actually need to read your own Bible check this one out! If you need a Bible study for a small group, check it out, too!

When I was asked to tour Mindy's book on my blog I was excited. It's not often I get the chance to review a nonfiction book or devotional that I am actually interested in. After going through the list of Mindy's books-all of the sounded fantastic!- available to tour, I settled on Hugs Bible Reflections for Women. I'm really glad I did! It's something different from your normal Bible studies and devotions, but it's still a fantastic book!

In Hugs, Mindy uses many life-changing stories, all from different women, to show other women who read this about God's love and His "hugs" for each and everyone of us. Through these stories-some will make you smile and some will make you cry-Mindy shows how wonderful God is in so many ways. She helps us to have a better understanding and walk with God and how to open our hearts to Him and feel those hugs. Wonderful!

At the end of each story, Mindy incorporates a reflection section, with questions and Bible verse references, just like a mini Bible study. I loved that about this book! It really brings out the meaning to the stories and helps draw us closer to our Father.

I really enjoyed working through this book. My relationship with God is stronger for it. I definitely give this book 5 stars and recommend it to all the women out there: young, single, moms, grandmas, preacher's wives, married. You'll really be able to feel that much needed Heavenly Hug from a wonderful, loving Father!
