I loved all the descriptions of the events and places to go see in Paris. I just wish there was a map to see the areas in which she was describing for a reference.

Here we go again! Jesse finds a way to politely describe Paris in ways that make it sound like it is a horrible place that you just HAVE to visit it. The places he describes can be a bit harsh at times, but he does it in a way that makes you want to visit each and every place mentioned. He covers every aspect you would come to expect from a travel guide and more! I have never wanted to visit Paris before because I heard it was a dirty, disgusting city. Now, after reading this guide, there are several places I just cannot wait to see!! This is another must read, especially if you plan on visiting the city.… (altro)

After finishing the book, I was left with the feeling that maybe I didn't get what it was intending to do.

Far from dissuading me from ever visiting Paris, it sparked a degree of curiosity for the French capital. It was a mixture of interesting and mildly humorous anecdotes with some vague descriptions of the various parts of the city.

I guess the best thing I can say is that it wasn't terrible and was also less unhelpful than the title suggests.

I'd like it to be a bit longer so that some sections could be expanded, but not so much that it became tiresome… (altro)

Written in tongue-in-cheek, this book offers a glimpse of Paris beyond the “tourist traps.” This book is instructive, but don’t take it too seriously.
