A lot has changed since this volume was published. In Canada as is the case in the USA, craft brewing has mushroomed to where a beer drinker cannot keep up. In my small town of 140,000, we have a large craft brewer who is shipping his beer to Europe and two small brewers who are now moving their product into the government liquor & beer stores .

What is still relevant in this book are the descriptions of the various beer types and the history of brewing. There are chapters on paring beer to food which many restaurants are now doing and cooking with beer.
