Byron initially appears to be a bit of a jerk in [b:Tuned|34845539|Tuned (Rhythm and Rhyme, #1)|Harper Logan|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1492013179s/34845539.jpg|56079600], but we saw a softer side of him after he put his ego on the back burner. In this book, we finally get to see inside his daily life and the struggles he has balancing his own happiness with what his parents expect of him. Marcus just recently transferred to Beasley and is having a hard time making friends. He is quiet, nervous, and straight--or so he thinks. Marcus accidentally runs into Byron and spills his coffee. He throws out the idea to take him out to lunch to make up for it, and a friendship begins that slowly builds to more.
I liked watching Marcus come to terms with his feelings for Byron. He opened up more, and allowed himself to experience things without any negativity associated with questioning his sexuality. It was portrayed positively and encouragingly. Marcus and Byron brought out great things in each other, and were a great couple. (
