I love this book! The pictures are beautiful and very creative. The Snowman is a picture book so it gives the reader an opportunity to use their imagination! I would bring this book out during the Christmas season so the kids can see the day in a life of a snowman! This story is about a snowman that a little boy builds when it snows at his home. During the night, the snowman comes to life and him and the little boy become friends. The little boy learns how to keep the snowman "alive" the best he can. This book is great for children who can not read on a high level and would be a great book to use for the whole class. Because it is a picture book, it would make all the non readers feel confident that they can understand the whole class story. The Snowman is a good book to use when showing how to do things, like how to make a snowman. This is a great "How To" book! ( )

A wordless book about a boy who builds a snowman that comes to life in his dreams. He invites the snowman into his home and introduces him to things around the house like the stove, refrigerator, his skateboard, balloons, his dad's clothes and eating ice cubes. In turn, the snowman takes him on a flight across the city skies. Wordless books help build narrative skills as children learn to tell stories in their own words. ( )
