An Aristotelian tragic hero has nobleness and the Hamartia, and faces a reversal of fortune and the recognition that the reversal was brought about by the his/her own action.
I can't be sure since these novels are relatively new, but I guess Kiyoaki from Mishima's Spring Snow and Taylon from The Bare Bodkin are modern tragic heroes.
I've always wanted Holden Caulfield to be a true tragic hero, but the ending of the novel seems to optimistic for that.
