I finally got to flip through my new copy of The Neverending Story and was surprised to see a lot of marks (whatever they're called) on the paper. I know this happens once in a while but usually even cheap books don't have so many blemishes in one volume. And neither do my other FS books.
I was wondering if anyone who bought this particular book has a copy with similar marks and it's just an issue with the paper they used or I drew the short straw.
I would ignore the tiny marks on tens of pages but there is one page with a huge one that is visible through the other side. It's probably my most expensive single volume by FS so I can't believe I paid more for something with worse quality control.

Mine doesn't have any kind of marks or blemishes, but I've noticed that in 2 or 3 pages the paper is very slightly creased (like your last picture), and after your post now I'm wondering if I treated the book roughly or if it's a manufacturing defect.
By the way your last picture is the title for my favourite chapter of the book.

Well, that would frustrate me, too. If it's not a common issue, I'd contact them about it. FS have excellent customer service when it comes to production flaws.
