Talking about books made into movies (or series!) successfully -- or not; or books that ought to be movies or series?

Finished The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead; been reading it off and on then finished the last half last week. Was going to watch the 10 part series based on it on Amazon Prime, appropriate for Independence Day. But now that I'm familiar with the material,* I chickened out, knowing what's going to happen (I'd seen the first 2 episodes when it first came out). I hope to work up the nerve to watch the whole thing sooner rather than later; from what I've seen it seems to be well done.

*Also finished The 1619 Project in the meantime -- the Whitehead novel uses fantasy to frame & collapse different historical episodes pre & post emancipation; I was paused at the Prime episode in North Carolina with clear echoes of The Diary of Anne Frank.
