So sorry that this thread got left out. I guess you all known that you can talk here about anything, not just books. I promise to do better next month. I did go back and check the other 4 groups that I post for to be sure they had a chat thread.

I disliked White Lotus (Season 2), but admit that Jennifer Coolidge was good in it; that she responded to the aria in Madam Butterfly made her the only half way human person in the whole series.

Happy to see a nomination for Brian Tyree Henry in Causeway; not happy to see nominations for Judd Hirsch's hammy Borscht Belt shtick (Paul Dano would have been a better Fabelmans nominee in that category), or anyone associated with the vile and hateful The Whale.
Saddest omission: Danielle Deadwyler's beautiful performance in Till, which appears to have fallen victim to Andrea Riseborough's impeccably timed social media campaign, which got her a nomination for a movie that no one had even heard of a month ago.
Category fraud of the year: Brendan Gleeson, who was worthy of nomination, but in Lead, not Supporting.
And I think only four of the twenty acting nominees have been nominated before (Blanchett, Williams, Bassett, Hirsch), which is unusually low.
