Hello Lovers of Oral Sex,

Could any of you point me in the direction of the best texts on going down on a woman?

Thanks!

The Only Oral Sex Advice You'll Ever Need:
- Enjoy it (or at least act like it)
- Communicate and listen to how your partner communicates
- Vary where you're licking/sucking/gently nibbling

There's no big secret, as what works varied from woman to woman.

Hehe. I feel a bit embarrassed after receiving that first comment. Yeah, I understand that this is an area of life where book knowledge isn't the end all or be all. Yet, there is a tradition of quality books on sexuality. I would bring up, The Joy of Sex by Alex Comfort, as one obvious example.

Thanks for the advice! Heina. Everything you said sounds very sensible. I am just a bookworm, and was curious about whether any texts offered information on highly pleasurable techniques. Of course, I understand that it will vary from person to person.

"uhhhh is he serious??????"

Also, I consider myself a she rather than a he at the moment. I am in the beginning stages of changing my gender identity.

I have heard the Guide to Getting It On highly recommended as a sex guide, though I have not read it yet and cannot be certain how much it has to say on cunnilingus. Certainly, as Heina points out, women vary, but ideas of different things to *try* might be helpful input into the creative process of figuring out what's feels good to a particular woman.

Wow, way to be open-minded, #2.

nickmanley, here are a couple of suggestions if you really do want a book and not just general pep talk type tips :)

The Ultimate Guide to Cunnilingus by Violet Blue

Tricks to Please a Woman by Jay Wiseman

The Whole Lesbian Sex Book by Felice Newman (this is a really comprehensive guide, and one I recommend to most anyone who wants to knowledgeably and thoroughly please their female-bodied partner, regardless of gender or orientation)

I know I'm late to the party, but I hope that helps!

You might consider Ian Kerner's She Comes First, for giving the whole pleasurable/pleasuring context to the practice of kissing the 'vertical smile'.

"I consider myself a she rather than a he at the moment. I am in the beginning stages of changing my gender identity."

For your sake, nickmanley, I only hope that, unlike most typical American males, you were left "intact". Without those special "bits", it won't make too much difference, sensation-wise, what techniques are employed.

Best advice I can give, outside of any specific book, remember your ABC's...work the alphabet until you find a letter that works, and you WILL know when you have found that letter.

Happy Letter Hunting

I realise this thread is about "going down on a woman" but I will throw in a touchstone for Blow Me! by Stephan Niederwieser (which isn't).

I haven't actually read it but I read his book Bend Over!: The Complete Guide to Anal Sex for Men! which was both funny but informative.

Edit: just joined this group. I see I've woken up a dormant thread.
